La alcaldesa de la ciudad malagueña nos habla de esta cita veraniega al aire libre, situada, como reza la web oficial, "a orillas del Mar Mediterráneo, donde todas las estrellas desean brillar"
(in Spanish at the source, rough English translation below)
The mayor of Fuengirola, Ana Mula, is direct and exhaustive in stating that Marenostrum, which was born seven years ago, is a clear and determined commitment by the city council that she runs for live music. Now, after seven seasons, it has become a benchmark cultural event in Spain.
Created from the wickers of the same consistory and becoming one of the most important open-air music events in the national territory, its management and transparency are impeccable. Its economic and social repercussion for the Costa del Sol is already an unquestionable fact. Its maximum mayor, in an interview granted to Vanitatis from the town hall, assures: "Marenostrum Fuengirola continues on the path of success in 2022. I can affirm with full conviction that we have the best open-air musical event in Europe, and all thanks to to the wide range of artists who choose this event every year”.
The municipal regent tells us that the City Council never stops: "Those responsible for this initiative are already working tirelessly on the preparation of the next academic year 2023. We have already made a good part of the poster that will be led by great international artists." In this way, the main person in charge of the most international musical event on the Costa del Sol shows us her satisfaction with this 2022 edition: “This year Marenostrum offers more than 60 musical events for all types of audiences, from May to September, in this incomparable setting such as the Arab fortress, for the most intimate concerts, and the surroundings of its hillside, for the large format ones. Artists of the stature of Alejandro Sanz, Marc Anthony, Rosalía or Rauw Alejandro have already passed through its stage this year”.
“And those that still remain, like the British star Louis Tomlinson, who will visit Spain this year with the exclusive celebration of a new 'Away from Home Festival', and the venue chosen is none other than the Marenostrum Fuengirola, where he will bring together over 16,000 fans on August 27. This series of concerts, the spearhead of the city's International Projection Plan and one of its main tourist attractions, kicked off on April 30 with Fito & Fitipaldis and we are already unstoppable.”
(...)
Ana Mula is excited by the expectation that Louis Tomlinson has created.
The singer will present his first solo album, which was released in January 2020 under the name of 'Walls'. It will be on August 27 when he offers his iconic presence on stage. The Briton will make all his Spanish fans vibrate, who have followed his career very closely since he joined the famous band One Direction.
“We are receiving emails from all over the world to come to this concert. Tickets sold out in hours. They write to us asking if fans can camp near our facilities. This concert in Fuengirola will come almost a year after the world became aware of The Away From Home event, a virtual Tomlinson concert broadcast via streaming that was accompanied by a documentary about how it was organized, with exclusive backstage images.
The Briton's commitment to his people is such that they follow him on a pilgrimage to Fuengirola, and his presence together with Aitana's concert, which will also hang the sold out sign with 16,000 spectators, will mark the closing of the most spectacular Marenostrum of all its seasons.
