The rest of the walk home happens in silence (safety first!) but the look on Cherry’s face is absolutely shouting, ‘I knew it.’ 😆

“Okay, sweet pea. I know you guys are a thing!! Spill the beans, cheeseball.”
“[exasperated] I— I’m not at liberty to discuss...”
“What?”
Phew! It’s been a massive day and Lydia is so tired she can’t even stay awake for her favorite ride down the ladder. And now Octavia is seemingly trapped—until Lydia wakes herself up???—so it seems like a great time to take off... 😅
But before we go, a quick recap of the week:
The inaugural autumn harvest celebration — no goaled event this time (I’m running out of “normal” event options and repeats don’t count) but that’s okay! ✅
More milestone progress for Lydia ✅
Some serious wellness skill and aspiration progress for Octavia ✅
And of course, officially the hottest (and only) couple in town ✅
“Okay, Tyler, what’re we doing? Are we still walking home together or what?”
[baby talk good-byes + delighted giggles]
“That pumpkin stew was phenomenal! It is a detriment to us all that you’re living in a spot with no kitchen access. We need to build you a kitchen or something!”
“Genuinely, Octavia, I would freaking love that!”
The surprise hit of the feast: Tyler’s mushroom cottage pie.
“It’s good, right?”
Runner up goes to the stray slice of plantain mixed in with Lydia’s plate of stale Cherrios.
“Shouldn’t we all go around and say what we’re thankful for or something?"
“Of course!”
And, of course, there’s plenty to be thankful for. To have plenty of food to eat; friends to share it with; to be safe and warm...
Someone’s at the table with the grownups for the first time ever — and now it’s Lydia’s world, we’re just living in it!
