Lisa raised an eyebrow, feeling very much like her mother in that moment. “Aw yes. The answer to all of life’s problems. Hot bean juice.” She didn’t despise coffee, but her father didn’t put anything good in it. No creamer or sugar, just plain coffee. Long ago, she had tried it to see if she could get behind it. She couldn’t. “Thank god for that.” For added effect, Lisa jokingly rolled her eyes at him and set back to her task at hand.
“You look like shit.”

“Yeah, so I’ve been told.” He heard that a lot during the day, but that wasn’t when his face wasn’t covered, so maybe he was in far worse shape than he thought. Not that this was anything new for him, at this point.
“Haven’t heard from you in a while, Frank. Where have you been?”
“You will never leave this place alive.”
The words tore through Billy like a knife, and he swallowed hard. Ragged breaths heaved from his chest as he crawled across the floor, trembling fingers reaching for the knife Frank had knocked clean out of his hand. His ribs screamed in agony with every movement but he persevered. It wasn’t going to end this way. He wasn’t going to end this way. Not after everything. Not after he’d fought tooth and nail to get back to where he’d been. Not now. Frank Castle was not going to take it all away from him again.
“Why?” He choked out, buying time, still struggling forward. “Why didn’t you just kill me the first time?”
“ who do you think you are? “
Wesley sighed, taking a moment to clean his glasses, though his eyes never left Castle. He’d not personally met the man before, but he’d heard enough to be cautious. “My name is unimportant. What is important is the offer my employer wishes to extend to you. A mutually beneficial one, at that.”
❛ you point that thing at me you better pull the trigger. ❜

Matt frowned at Frank, quickly released the mag and took the barrel off the gun tossing all three pieces into a different corner of the room. “I told you before, I’d never kill you.”

They’ve never talked about this possibility, what they would do, never even touched on the topic of kids. And why would they? There have never been very well-defined terms to this thing they’re doing. Karen has to assume she knows how he feels about it, though; why would anyone whose children were murdered ever want to bring another child into the world? Still, it’s happened. The proof is in her hands, and Frank is waiting in the other room, and she feels just…terrible. Terrible to be springing this on him after everything he’s already been through with his first—his real—family. Karen isn’t fit to be anybody’s family.
Still. No point keeping him on tenterhooks now. Tossing the pregnancy test in the trash, she washes her hands and steps back out into the living room.
“It’s positive,” she says frankly. Then her face twists into into a mask of agony. “God, I’m so sorry.”
Frank narrowed his eyes as he stood in front of Matt on one of the may rooftops of New York. "What the hell were you thinkin?" he asked him. "You let her go after Fisk? Let that mad man who was runnin around in your red pajamas go after her? What'd you turn a blind eye to her? Huh?" He furrowed his brows, knowing he'd made a blind jab at him.
Matt frowned at Franks words. He already beats himself up for it, he doesn’t need Frank shoving his face in it. “No.” The blind man muttered and turned away from him. Matthew has no excuses for it either. “If you’re going to kick my ass over it. Go ahead.” He deserves it.
