ohhh there’s so many options with that. is it a reunion fic? an anti reunion fic? everyone accidentally runs into each other? a lads trip, but years later? probably one of them dates Zayn and has a party where everyone shows up and are like ‘why’s Zayn here?’ and they’re like ‘we’re dating :)’ and awkward comedy ensues.

Wade Wilson goes undercover at a strip joint and is doing a really bad job of it, blowing his cover when Zayn Malik comes in, ‘cause he’s a popstar in this AU and Wade is obsessed. he gives Zayn a lapdance anyway and fangirls over Zayn the whole time with some truly corny pick up lines and Zayn’s deeply charmed and there’s probably a bathroom blowjob !

AU where niall is hired on as an interior designer for harry’s styles new big bachelor pad. Dealing with pop star demands about colour and textiles and stone should be annoying, but niall can’t help but love working for harry (bc guess what he has a big crush on him!)

YES I love this! Niall as a very neo mod, minimalist designer. like he works with a palette and ONE texture at a time, and usually that texture is WICKER or something very safe. he has a LOOK okay. he probably realizes pretty quickly that Harry’s vision is outside his usual, and he’s like ‘really why did you hire me’ and Harry’s probably just like ‘you’re hot, duh’ or something equally as flippant. idk, Harry definitely gets on Niall’s nerves but in a CHARMING way, and Harry is kind of obsessed with being involved in every part of the process. 

he keeps inviting Niall out to lunch and conveniently forgetting to tell Niall whether or not he wants a rustic themed second sitting room. Harry probably hits on him more than is professional, and Niall eventually has to ask him if they’re really talking about the color scheme of the kitchen or if the very fancy dinner they’re at is a DATE. spoiler alert: it’s a date.

and he’s INFURIATING, like Harry tries to fool around in a furniture store, there’s a lot of puns about wood when they’re picking out dining room sets, and he always asks Niall if Bed, Bath, & Beyonds make him horny, but Niall is so into him it doesn’t even matter at that point. 

eventually he starts embracing textures more, ‘cause sometimes Harry is a good influence.

Au where famous singer songwriter Niall accidentally ends up in a drag bar and sees Veronica perform, goes back stage and meets Zayn, tries to help him get a singing career off the ground and ends up falling for him—and his alter ego Veronica (just saw a star is born and this was all I could think about during the beginning)

I NEVER saw A Star is Born, but I want to take this opportunity to say there’s not enough drag!Zayn fic in the world and I really support this idea.

ohh so not everyone has Eyes but everyone has eyes, louis was just born without one of his? as was zayn? also since i’m a sucker for ziall, what happened after zayn rescued that led to them falling in love? how did zayn know about niall to rescue him?

[prev] yes! well, not everyone has eyes, I’m sure Louis isn’t the only one without, but yeah not everyone has the mech eye. Zayn actually had his installed; like he replaced one of his normal eyes with a mech eye so he could do the upgrades.  

ANYWAY great question so basically Niall was orphaned at a young age and sold to a House. Zayn’s parents worked at the House undercover ‘cause they’re like, part of the ~resistance. you know, the ~resistance that every dystopian au has where they hate the government and do whatever they can to undermine the cruelties of society. they worked at Houses to get Hybrids out and get them underground. if they wanted to they could join up, or they could try to get other jobs in the Lower District. 

so Zayn saw Niall, and they’re both p much kids, but Zayn decides Niall is his gunna be the first Hybrid he busts out himself. he’s already a pretty accomplished hacker at this point so taking Niall’s admittedly low tech collar offline was pretty easy. but instead of like, taking Niall to a halfway point to be rehabilitated back into society, he just… took Niall home. so Niall stayed with Zayn and they grew up together, and fell in love and all that good stuff. Niall met Harry because they’re both Hybrids and frequent the same places, and ve and Zayn had been talking Harry into doing more risky stuff and getting them info because Harry does House Pet work in the Upper District. which is how ve knows Liam, because Liam hires Harry a decent amount. he’s part of a really high ranking military family and he’s expected to be in the military as well, but he’s falling in love with Harry so he’s questioning his entire life!! 

and Harry thinks the ~resistance stuff is FUN; ve’s not really… aware of the urgency because ve’s surrounded by the rich people who are hoarding resources like the world isn’t ending. in the set up to the Ziall bit, ve brings Niall along to a royal party and Niall sneaks into Prince Louis’ room under the pretense of being a House Pet before knocking him out and throwing him down the laundry shoot, where Harry helps vir get the unconscious body out of the Upper District. (Zayn does all the technology hacks and gives them green lights all the way back, of course.) 

when the story comes in, Niall’s leading Louis to Zayn’s lab underground. they’re going to attempt to use Louis as leverage against the government of their citystate signing with the Nation (basically the dystopian big-bad) because their citystate is one of the only place left that’s completely independent of the Nation; it has its own Brains and its own military and it’s own resources. in the end, the attempt to negotiate doesn’t work because Queen doesn’t actually have any power, only the military does. they treaty with the Nation, the world is doomed, Louis stays with Ziall and there’s an eventual OT3.

another question about the catboy fic, what are eyes? does everyone have them? and why does zayn need louis’?

[prev] another great question! I was thinking about this in terms of post-apocalyptic and how their environment is very unstable; resources are running out, most of the world can’t be lived in, birth defects are pretty common, etc. for Louis he was just born without an eye, so he has a prosthesis, but it’s biomech so his eye can be tracked or seen through if they’re accessed remotely, which is why Zayn disconnects it. Zayn’s a Brain, which in general is like, highly educated or highly specialized in certain areas. a lot of tech-savvy Brains like Zayn usually make mech upgrades to themselves in order to retain or access knowledge – or ‘cause they think it’s cool, if they’re rich and can access the resources. Zayn’s eye is neurologically wired and has a bunch of wacky upgrades that allow him to do short-cut hacks to nearby technology, and access the city’s interface (off-grid of course, he’s very much Against the system).

Oh my goddddd anon you can’t just drop that ziall love bomb then run away. We all need that fic! We need it to be at least 30k, maybe with a series of scenes taking place from 2010 to now! Or the future! Ziall to infinity and beyond

I KNOW. I was literally just thinking that like it could just be a series of vignette-style scenes kinda detailing the differences in their approach to their sexualities and each other, where their attitudes slowly inverse towards each other like Zayn knows what he wants in the beginning but as his experience with 1D progresses he loses confidence and interest before he leaves, and while Niall starts off in a very unsure place, he begins to understand more about himself and Zayn, but that is ultimately disrupted by the dissolution of the band and he kind of accepts that nothing is going to happen between them. he’s constantly looking back on their time together like maybe he misinterpreted what Zayn wanted, especially since it ended the way that it did. when he meets up with Zayn again, they’re both far more settled and self-assured, and Zayn acknowledges that what was happening with the band ended up keeping him from pursuing Niall even when it was obvious Niall was coming to terms with his sexuality and his own desire, and then they hook up and fall in love and live happily ever after amen.
