hi I need some help. I recently got back my report card and my unweighted GPA was 2.71 and to progress to junior year of the IB program I need to have a 2.75 unweighted GPA average. it says that if I have two D's or one F I will be removed or Lower then a 2.75 I will also be removed but then it says if I have lower than 2.75 they will just put me in academic probation. So I'm not sure Of what they're going to do. Do you have any thoughts?

I don’t know how they do it at your school, but at my school they honestly didn’t care! If you fell into the group where you were below what they had hoped for, they just talked to you and either convinced you to quit or convinced you to work harder and improve. They didn’t really kick any of us out; they were quite nice about it (or so I hear!). If you WANT to stay in IB, talk to your IB counselor about this and convince them that you will be improving next semester. They will likely give you the benefit of the doubt for now, but if you drop too low again, you’ll probably be kicked out :\ I dunno for sure, but consider this strike one! I don’t think they’d straight kick you out, unless your school is SUPER strict. Good luck :(!! I’m sure you’ll be okay :) work hard! I know you probably do, but just work harder and harder! Don’t push your self past your limit—push yourself TO your limit and do the absolute best you can :)
