the confession sparks something within the brunette's dark eyes and her head tilts to the left slightly as she takes her time to truly study veronica, remaining silent as she considers the blonde's words. there's no fear or caution to be seen, even as her overall expression remains unreadable. she tries to search for any sign of falsehood within the words, tries to pierce any mask that the other may be holding up to hide her true intentions. after a few moments, violet relaxes as she realizes that veronica wasn't lying. either veronica was convinced that she was a monster or she really and truly was what she said she was.
violet decides to allow the other to see beyond her own mask and get a glimpse of her own truth. "it's always interesting to see that i am not the only monster in a relationship," she says. she waits a moment, allowing the words to sink in. "tell me, what have you done? what do you do?"
"now that's something you don't see every day."

"i'm not sure you've come to the right place," her voice is soft and lightly joking as she closes the door behind the blonde, locking it out of paranoid habit. "- but i'll do my best to be as rational as possible." vanessa has caught sam in the middle of cleaning and she's very happy to have any excuse for a break. "make yourself comfortable on the couch. we're the only ones here, so there's no need to worry about being overheard by anyone." she quickly fetches them both something to drink and settles in comfortably beside her girlfriend. "what's wrong, baby?"
❝ I don't really feel comfortable going in there. ❞ It reminded her too much of the place that she grew up in . . . that she was captive in for so many years. Blue eyes trembled just looking at the abandoned, allegedly haunted building.
