Sketching Chapter 2.5.4 - Groping For Rescue
1. Argh the image is not as good as I wanted it to be... but whatever I'm not doing anything else
2. Victor Hugo is describing Valjean trying to find a way out up through the buildings. There are pipes on one wall but they're old and frail, and there is a tall wall on yhe other side. For now he is safe in a particular corner of the biilding that keeps him out of sight from the guard ahead.
3. The most hilarious thing was Victor Hugo trying to convince us that this is, in fact, a real and exact description of this definitely real location that you can totally ask old residents about.
4. I've said this before but I honestly think Hugo is a better painter/visual artist than he is a poet. There, I said it again!
