In Mark 6, Jesus has come upon a huge crowd the moment he steps off the boat, but he is moved by compassion for them, and chooses to stay and minister to them. As time passes everyone becomes hungry and they are far from populated towns that have food.

Rather than send everyone away, Jesus tells the disciples they'll feed them. They're shocked, as they only have 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Jesus performs a miracle, taking only that, and tearing it apart only to continue coming up with more, each separation creating larger portions of the food, until there was enough to feed all 5000 men and their families.

Jesus performed this miracle, but he did not distribute the food. He passed the baskets filled with food to his 12 disciples, who then passed out the food. While studying this, I saw a point someone made: When you follow Jesus, you worry how you will be able to serve him, like the disciples unable to imagine where more food will come from, or Moses insistent that he cannot speak for God, we can worry less - God himself will provide us with the things he requires us to do. The only way to fail is to refuse outright to do God's work in the moments it is directly before you.
