False happiness? part I

Summary: You thought you were happy until Steve appeared in your life, but does happiness last forever?

Warnings: This one-shot happens in the alternative line created in 2012 and may become a little bit sad.

You were one of the best agents that S.H.I.E.L.D. had, until that moment you thought you had a happy life until you met Steve.

From the moment the news arrived at the organization that they had found Captain America on the ice, the rumors kept circulating in the halls, the employees fought to see him when they were informed that he was at the facility, but not all of them had access, you have because the level you were, the emotion was noticeable except in the STRIKE team.

Although you don´t belong to that team, you got along with them, not to mention that you had many missions together, their attitude seemed to you a bit strange but you also knew that they didn´t accept anyone, in fact, they accepted you was difficult, it cost you a couple of good fights with some members.

The day came when Steve woke up and you were one of the first to see him, there was also a strong competition over who would help him adapt and integrate into this century, thanks to your skills you obtained the position.

From the first moment you met, you knew that he was special, he awake feelings and sensations in you that no one in your life had ever made you feel

At first you were scared of everything you felt but at the end, it was Natasha who helped you understand that the only thing that happened to you was that you felt in love with Steve, it had never happened to you before, you tried to act as usual, because you were afraid to scare him.

He was adapting very well to this new era and you could be sure that he would not cause a fire by using the microwave.

Steve was kind respectful and gentlemanly with you, you used to stay night talking; So you had learned many things from his time, other times you tried to dance but neither of you was really so it was normal for you to have small accidents, however, you had fun when they tried.

Every time you returned home, Steve stayed there waiting for you, sometimes he had tried to receive you with a dinner cook by himself … that never was successful, the food was very salty or burned or both, you appreciated his attempts and for the good of both, you reached the agreement that you would take care of the food. However that day when you returned he was nowhere in your apartment, he left the cell phone on the dining room table, you checked the whole place, you did not find him so you decided to look for him in the surroundings, you were not entirely sure if he would remember the way back or if he had simply missed, because everything was very different from its time.

You don´t find him nearby and you couldn´t think of who to go and you were sure that if you don´t find it, you could lose your job, but what really worried you was that something happened to him, you finally decided to call Natasha to help you, she one of the few people you trusted.

“Y/N, I don’t understand how you could lose a grown up man” Nat commented when she arrived at your apartment.

“I didn’t lose him. He just left the house without notifying me where he was going and he is nowhere.” you defended yourself

Meanwhile Steve had gone to a cafeteria to be exact even what was two streets away from the Stark Tower, it wasn´t the first time he left, he usually returned before you arrive home, however, that day he needed some time to organize his heart and mind; at first, when he woke up and internally he had hopes of being able to join again with Howard and Peggy but instead he learned about Stark’s death, he would have liked to be there to support his son, he would also like to meet him, maybe there was a bit of his friend in him and as soon as Peggy … his heart was broken; one part of him was happy for her but the other is broken, at the end, she hadn´t fulfilled any of those promises she had made and ended up marrying and having a family with one Sousa, so he really preferred not to see her or have contact with her.

However, when he was with you, he felt happy, a strange sensation was present, it was nothing similar to what he had felt before in his life, he could not stop seeing you, he wanted to kiss your lips, and it was as if you were a magnet. He didn´t like when you have to separate, your presence reassured him and made him believe that everything would be fine.

When he took the last sip of his coffee, he had already decided what he wanted and would do, he paid the bill and went to the nearest flower shop, he did not know if it was like his time or if the protocol was the same but perhaps if he did The way his mother had taught him would work.

He arrived at the apartment although it was strange that you weren´t in the place, it was then that he realized how late it had been done.

“Maybe he had an emergency mission,” he thought.

He checked his mobile phone just as you had taught him; at the beginning, it seemed impossible but thanks to you, he learnt it; there was no message.

“I think we’ll have to let Fury know,” Natasha commented as you entered the building.

“Was nice to meet you and worked with you,” you said

When the door of your apartment was open, both of you were silent there was Steve without any scratch and alive.

“Where were you?” you asked almost hysterically.

“I went for a walk,” he replied simply.

Steve tried to hide the flowers, Natasha saw his movement and immediately realized what Steve planned to do, internally the spy smiled, she was happy for you, she believed you deserved to be happy and he would be able to achieve it.

“I think you have a lot to talk about, I’m leaving,” Nat said.

“Na …” you started to say but she was already gone “I’m sorry she’s a little weird” you apologized her ”Steve you scared me, where were you?” you asked again.

“I went for a walk and lost the track of time,” he said.

Both of you keep silent, at least you already felt calm, instead, he felt more nervous every second that passed.

“What’s up?” you asked when you noticed he changed his attitude.

“Y/N, I-I wanted to tell you that you have been very good and kind w-with me since I woke up, you are very pretty, do you want to be …?

You stood on tiptoe and planted a kiss before he could finish the sentence before you didn´t know if he corresponded to you but now you weren´t going to miss the opportunity.

“I think that’s a yes,” he said after separating.

For a moment both of you stared at each other without saying anything, you didn’t usually act so impulsively.

“What’s that?” you asked when you saw the flowers.

“Of course, I brought it for you “he didn’t even remember the flowers until you mentioned them.

He handed them to you and immediately you put them in a vase, it was the first time he gave you flowers and it seems the most beautiful in the world.

Since then you went out on dates to several sites regardless if it was conventional or not, every day you felt happier, you thought that nothing could overshadow your happiness, there were times when at the last moment some of you had to cancel for the missions, but both you understood.

Steve was training a little in the gym, after that he takes a bath and go to dinner with you, however Fury went to the gym to give him his first important mission and as a team, they had to stop Loki; As soon as the Director left the place he called you to let you know.

“They just assigned me a mission,” he informed you as soon as you answered him.

“That’s great, your first official mission,” you replied.

You were happy for him, you knew he was a little tired of having no missions and practically having a hard time.

“I thought you would be angry,” he said more calmly.

“No, we have an agreement, I would have been angry if you hadn’t advised me, will you go alone?”

If he went alone, you planned to sneak into his mission.

“No, it has to do with the Avengers Initiative …” he fell, he didn’t know if he could share that information with you.

“Lucky, be very careful please, don’t fight with your teammates,” you replied.

A part of you was sad because you weren´t part of the Initiative but you fully trusted your boyfriend’s ability.

“Tomorrow we could … oh, I certainly forgot tomorrow you will go see your friend, I promise to compensate you doll,” he promised.

“I love you, Stevie” you assured him.

“I love you more,” he said before hanging up.

You had no idea that the mission wasn´t going well, although you assumed that the mission had been extended since you still had no news, as they say, if something bad had happened you would have already heard, so the next day you went with your friend to a restaurant near the Stark Tower.

You were having a good time when the Chitauris began attacking the city, had already caused damage to the restaurant.

“What the hell is going on?” your friend asked almost crying.

“I have no idea, stay behind me,” you ordered as you drew your gun.

“Do you bring a gun? You’re crazy! ” she claimed

“I’m an agent, I don’t know what you expected,” you said.

You were analyzing the situation to keep your friend safe when you saw your boyfriend.

“Steve! “You called him.

“Y/N!” He shouted as soon as he saw you, at least I was sure you were alive.

“What’s going on?”

“Some space monsters attack us, I need you to go to a safe place, I don’t want you to get hurt,” he ordered.

Obviously, you didn’t obey him, you helped evacuate other people to safe places, a few hours later you and Steve finally got together.

“I don’t understand what happened, it’s more, and I’m not even sure if I already went crazy or if it really happened.” your voice sounded confused and in fact, you were confused.

“Loki escaped,” he informed you.

“What?” you weren’t sure you heard right.

“I’m not pretty sure what happened, I saw it and it was the same as me, everything was very confusing “he didn’t understand what had happened in the last hours either.

“I guess we’ll be busy looking for him now,” you said a little sad.

That meant you wouldn’t have much time to spend together, because you would be with too much work.

“I need to find Bucky,” he suddenly released.

“Bucky? Your friend who fell off the train? ” you questioned.

“He’s alive,” he sputtered.

“How do you know? It is not possible for someone can survive to a fall like that “you said surprised.

You knew what had happened because he had told you on one of the many nights that were unveiled but now you thought that he might need to rest was he, but when you saw his face and his eyes and you knew he was saying it seriously.

The following days were very confusing, you were trying to track down Loki, it was too much work you had, and you were through the Rollins office when you heard something that left you frozen.

“The Cap is in our team,” said Rollins.

“It is not possible that he is also HYDRA,” someone replied.

“Rumlow and Sitwell also heard it, he said the key,” Rollins explained.

You walked away as fast as you could, you couldn’t believe what you had heard, during all that time I had cheated on you, everybody, Steve wasn´t the hero everyone believed, and he was a fucking damn traitor.

“Good God, I could’ve gone my whole life in bliss without finding that out,“ you murmured when you entered your office.

Now you felt that your life had been a complete falsehood, doubts if his feelings towards you were real, you simply couldn’t stand it, and you didn’t even know if you would have liked to discover it in any other way.

If you faced him, he would surely lie to you as he surely had done all those months, you took your things and ran away.

You didn’t know where you go but you couldn’t live with that kind of betrayal.
