Hachiko is going into hiding until Friday! It’s one of many efforts to discourage Halloween celebrations in Shibuya, which have become extremely overcrowded (not to mention rowdy), stoking fears of crowd crush or stampedes.
Actually, while we’re on the subject, here is a video on protecting yourself in a crowd crush situation, which apparently escalates so suddenly that before you’re aware it’s happened, it’s too late to escape.
Now, the point of this post was supposed to be “Doggie is cute,” but also I would be remiss not to add this: Don’t go to Shibuya on Halloween! (Or—if you can help it—ever, but that’s less about safety, more about sanity. Also, I recognize that not everyone hates Shibuya as much as me.)
In any case, have a nice nap, Hachiko! You’ve more than earned it, and I hope you enjoy being hidden under a blanket at least as much as Iggy does (and that is A LOT)! Happy Halloween!
