i think it's interesting that a lot of people think that intimacy is strictly romantic lol. it's not. friends are intimate. it means you know and love a person deeply. platonic intimacy is a thing and people getting riled up at discussing intimacy between yoonmin is funny because they're surely intimate. they've spent years knowing and understanding one another and if that makes people uncomfy then they're very insecure with their own intimate friendships i guess.
This is why OT7 is a big deal.
The K-idol system has group members living together in often very small spaces for years on end. Usually during their adolescent formative years. This can result in utter chaos or it can result in very close bonds. It nearly always results in super unfortunate styling.

BTS is a prime example of Close Bonds Being Formed. They were, and they continue to this day.
This is what nearly a decade of learning each other, working together, living together much of the time, and traveling together did to these guys:
It's not just the Grow Up Glow Up. It's not just that they have a bigger budget and arguably vastly improved styling and brand sponsors. It's a comfort level. It's maturity, yes, but it's also the effect of their shared upbringing, their deep and lasting friendships - their intimacy, whether platonic or otherwise. And mostly it *is* platonic.
Within these photos there are 21 separate friendships. That's a lot of 'ships. And each of those relationships is intimate on some level. Maybe some are closer than others. But each relationship is unique and each one is important, because without it BTS would not be the group they are. After a decade of such close bonds, I doubt there are many secrets left between these guys. They've slept in the same beds, held hands, showered together, seen things that cannot be unseen. They've fought over bananas and clothes and dumplings and nearly come to blows over Run BTS games. They name all their teams Kim Seokjin and Rock Paper Scissors is a mediation tool. They yell for each other when they're drunk even if the other guy is sitting right there. They love each other. That much is very clear. And the world is a better place for it.
