If you haven't heard about Tumblr sharing Third-Party data to feed AI models, then you may want to Google it and check around. There's an option to deselect this and prevent them from sharing that to feed AI, but honestly, I can't get over the discomfort of it all.
When I started blogging in 2010, it was honestly because it was fun. I've always been cautious about what I put out here, and because of that, this has become more of an accountability blog than anything else. And it's honestly been a great way for me to track my writing progress and goals for the year. I rely on this. I love this.
And I was fine with putting the content out there so long as there was the remote possibility that it would be read and nothing else. But the idea of my words being fed into a machine to be mimicked and spat out as something new is just so gross that I honestly don't know what to make of it.
I didn't sign up for this when I signed up to Tumblr and I'm pretty sure most of us didn't. So I will be taking an indefinite break from the platform and I'm not sure when (or if) I'll return.
