to do list 7/8/2017

Ok, so, I’m leaving town on monday to go to an extended family reunion. I... really don’t want to go. I agreed to go when I thought my brother in the marines was going to be there, but due to a bunch of bullshit he won’t be, so now I’ve got to be around all these strangers and pretend we’re something more than strangers and... just ugh.

Anyway, the last couple weeks the office manager & front desk person at work has been out of town, so I’ve had to do that stuff instead of my usual stuff (including being in at there normal starting time - as early as 4am some days), which means I have a huge backlog of work to get through today and tomorrow before I can leave town, including:

* a shit ton of filing * finding a missing chart of a patient who was here like 6 years ago * put away all the boxes I’ve pulled out failing to find it already * prepare the charts for the days I’ll be out * more filing * follow up on some phone messages * generally clean my desk area * did I mention the filing? * dishes * laundry * pack (keep it light)

Filing is mentioned multiple times like a joke, but there’s actually 3 distinct chunks of it I need to get done before I go

So, that’s the shit I need to work on. I had kind of hoped to have the NitW blog and some more commission painting done before I left town, but in addition to covering for my boss at work, I was also dogsitting her pooch in the afternoons, and altogether I just didn’t get any fucking shit done at all apart from that for two solid weeks. I could have done more this past week, since she was back, but mostly I’ve just been recovering from the previous exertion, so... whatever.

Anyway, am at the office today, working on some of that.

If I get a good amount of work done and have energy after I get home, I want to get a couple blog posts up before I leave town, one for NitW and one for Homestuck, since I don’t know if I’ll have the time to myself to work on them during the reunion. I’ve already got the panel edit done for the next homestuck post, and I’m pretty proud of it, but I have no Idea how to do the commentary. Lobac’s next page was a huge text wall of classpect speculation, which is fascinating and fun to read, but I never know what to say about that stuff that wouldn’t amount to, like, a confirmation or denial of her guesswork and predictions.

Don’t know why I’ve been in a Homestuck mood the last couple days. It just sort of comes and goes every few months or so I guess.

Oh, wait, no, I do actually know why I’ve been in a homestuck mood. That 17776 thing. It’s pretty cool, and feels very homestuckesque.
