How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?

I suck at this question, I never know the precise date...it should be 5? I think? And before I was doing mostly fanart with a bit of original stuff.

What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?

So this year I'm more into the digital art with some sort of a comic-realistic ish style tho I still enjoy doing some fluffy chibi.

Who's your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?

Well i'm more into Killian than the previous CSBB...I mean we have new content every episode of the Season7 so yeah Killian ++. But I do love doing some CS crossover (and with all those summer project on tumblr, I'll do al lot of the two lovers together again!)

If you participated in the 2016 Big or Little Bangs, the 2017 Big Bang, or the 2018 Little Bang, what was the experience like for you? What are you looking forward to this time around?

Definity enjoyed saving author without artist haha (I do love a challenge ;p). I really like being able to read several fic and meet more than one author. Thought, last year I've been a little short with deadlines even more during the CSLB sooo I might have to work even harder if I want to do all the fanart I want to do each time (I can't help it, i have to do more than just 3 fanart lol). So this year I can't wait to see new or old faces and do some art to revive our dear CS crew because I have that horrible feeling it's falling appart and people are leaving and gosh I hate that so if doing art and fanfic helps keeping it alive than i'm in!

What is your favorite piece of artwork you've made for OUAT? Why is it your favorite? 

So this time I'm changing my mind and you guys are going to hate me because I'm not giving a link lol. So why no precise link? Because I realized I was loving every single fanart i'm doing for OUAT. They all hold a special place, special feeling as they were all designed for the ouat fandom. They are all some kind of my favorites because they're all making people smile (well at least one people I can't please everyone in one stuff) and that's why I keep doing art. That's why I love when people are like "hey men! do you think you could draw that? plz?" and I'm always like "well...i'll see if i have time" but just open Photoshop the second later and start doing it or that I do fanart for author bc i loved their fic.

How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?

I started making OUAT edits for about 3 years. Before that I made edits for how I met your mother.

What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?

I like making edits and manips on whatever I'm inspired to do

Who's your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?

I enjoy doing them both together because they inspire me when they're together, but I also enjoy editing them separately.

If this is your first time participating in a Big or Little Bang, what made you decide to sign up? What are you looking forward to?

I thought it sounded like a lot of fun and a cool opportunity. I'm looking forward to talking to the author(s) and creating the actual artwork. 

What is your favorite piece of artwork you've made for OUAT?

Why is it your favorite?

Those are my favorite because they're the ones I enjoyed making the most and were based on things that really inspired me. I also really like how the came out and am really proud of them.

How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?

I've been making artwork since late season 4. i've always admired the people who made art for stories, but it felt that it was a field that didn't have much content then. i decided to make the art i wanted to see. i'm glad to see that more and more people are doing it now

What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?

Picsets, banners, image compositions. as far as the sunject matter, it depends on the fic i'm trying to illustrate. i draw inspiration from the story and earch for ouat pictures that fit as well as any piece of photography that conveys a certain emotion i want to depict.

Who's your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?

Both together. isn't it obvious? they are adorable. they're easy to made into a warm, lovely piece of art

If you participated in the 2016 Big or Little Bangs, the 2017 Big Bang, or the 2018 Little Bang, what was the experience like for you? What are you looking forward to this time around?

Both big bangs and one little bang. it's my favourite cs event, tied maybe with au week. i'm looking forward to all the amazing stories that are going to sustain my inner fangirl for a year. additionally, i can't wait to collaborate with new people. i've had various degrees of success in the Bangs -no pun intended- but i learned that i delivered the best work when i worked closely with the authors and really exchanged opinions and comments about the subject.

What is your favorite piece of artwork you've made for OUAT? 

Why is it your favorite? 

Full disclosure: i pick a different one in every spotlight. they are my kids. this one is special cause it's for a multichapter i love and started reading very early in my fandom days. i didn't know @nowforruin then, didn't know how brilliant of a writer she was, but 3 chapters into this and it was evident. she goes so deep into their connection, what they share in these cold nights and what they don't, how drinking is a bridge and an obstacle at the same time, how unfriendly the days can be until she walks into killian's bar. this image set is an ode to the feelings i got when i read it and a celebration of these earlier fandom experiences

How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?

On and off since I joined, so 3 years. At first it was just banners for my own fics, and then I started doing image sets as presents for friends of their fics, and every now and then I'll do one that has a little blurb with it.

What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?

Abstract image sets

Who's your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?

Both, since there are a variety of pictures of the actors you can draw from when doing image sets, particularly a modern AU one.

If you participated in the 2016 Big or Little Bangs, the 2017 Big Bang, or the 2018 Little Bang, what was the experience like for you? What are you looking forward to this time around?

Working as an artist for the 2017 BB and moderator of the 2018 Little Bang was an amazing experience! I got to meet and interact with members of the fandom I normally wouldn't have the chance to, and it was great to work with fellow shipmates to give their stories a visual component. This time around I'm looking forward to that sense of community and getting to know someone new again!

What is your favorite piece of artwork you've made for OUAT? 

Why is it your favorite?

This one still remains my favorite because it was just so much fun to make. I adore the fic it was created for, and this was by far one of the easiest and most rewarding image sets I've ever done. It also showed me I can be creative when it comes to them (the quote on the coffee cup wasn't there in the stock picture I found), which helped me tremendously in last year's BB when it came to a concept.

How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?

I've been making artwork for ouat since around S2 was airing. Before that I did some Stargate and Doctor Who stuff, along with my own projects.

What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?

Animation when I can find the time! I don't get to do traditional hand drawn stuff often enough. I like using the CSBB as an excuse to spend more time on longer illustrations too though. I work both digitally and sometimes with watercolours.

Who's your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?

Both! They've both got a ton of personality that's fun to draw into their body language. As I get better and better at drawing people interacting though, I'd say lately I've preferred drawing them together.

If you participated in the 2016 Big or Little Bangs, the 2017 Big Bang, or the 2018 Little Bang, what was the experience like for you? What are you looking forward to this time around?

hit all three boxes! I guess I'm a veteran at this point. It's always fun collaborating and expanding on ideas with someone. I wish I had more time in the little bang to get to know the other artists on the stories I was paired up with. Working together with @just-be-magnificent on an art piece was incredibly fun.

What is your favorite piece of artwork you've made for OUAT?

Why is it your favorite?

Just look at them spinning around! I wasn't sure if I'd have time to even attempt this never mind get a full animation loop done. I had a whole backup plan where I'd just cleanup a single frame of it if I couldn't finish it in time.

How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?

I’ve been making art for OUAT for two years but have been making videos for the MCU and Marvel Netflix shows for the last 5 years

What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?

I love making music videos for my favourite characters or for plots for stories. I also make trailers for stories I’ve written too.

Who's your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?

I love making videos for Killian due to the complexity of his character. He’s always been rather intriguing and the depth to his character results in an interesting creative process when making videos from his perspective. I also like making CS videos because I adore the couple and love exploring the parallels and similarities between them as well as how far they’ve grown as a couple.

If you participated in the 2016 Big or Little Bangs, the 2017 Big Bang, or the 2018 Little Bang, what was the experience like for you? What are you looking forward to this time around?

I’ve been a writer for the 2017 CSBB but due to my health hindering my writing for the deadlines I needed to drop out. I did want to be a writer this year but my health is still not 100% and I have university deadlines. However, making videos is a less lengthy process for me so I should have no issue in creating art for the story/stories. I am looking forward to making videos for stories written by others, it will be a new and fun experience!

What is your favorite piece of artwork you've made for OUAT?

Why is it your favorite? 

I just love how perfectly the song suits with the characters and chosen scenes and how the videos make sense and portray the message im trying to get across in the video. I don’t know, the song choice, characters and quotes just seem to fit.

Today’s Captain Swan Big Bang Spotlight features @shipsxahoy!

How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom? 

Been making art since 2015, before then it was a smattering of fanart for various fandoms including Harry Potter and the Hunger Games.

What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter? 

Mainly anything that can be photo shopped.

Who's your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why? 

Both of them together because ...they're so pretty together? I do tend to make separate Killian-only gifsets because I am only human, and it's Colin O'Donoghue.

If you participated in the 2016 Big or Little Bangs, the 2017 Big Bang, or the 2018 Little Bang, what was the experience like for you? What are you looking forward to this time around?

It was great! I've done both the 2017 big and little bangs, and it was a fun challenge and experience -- and I loved collaborating with authors to make their fics come to life.

What is your favorite piece of artwork you've made for OUAT? Why is it your favorite?

I've done a lot of things over the last three years, so it's really hard to narrow down a favorite piece of work. My favorite thing was to create this Captain Swan gifset with lyrics. Out of the more recent ones I’ve done, I love this one. 

I love mixing the still images with the moving gifs, something I rarely do because it adds another layer of complexity. It was fun! I also really love creating super angsty/emo stuff, and playing with the typography.

How long have you been making artwork for the OUAT fandom? What sorts of artwork (original or fan art) did you make before joining the OUAT fandom?

I've started giffing last June more or less. ouat was the first fandom I made artwork for.

What sort of artwork do you like to make, either in terms of style, medium, or subject matter?

I really like working with photoshop and just makes whatever inspires me I guess? Mostly fandom related.

Who's your favorite subject for artwork: Emma or Killian? Or do you prefer both together? Why?

I make more emma content, but they're both my favorites together or not. They're both different and still kindred spirit, and i just live a killian and emma appreciation life.

If you participated in the 2016 Big or Little Bangs, the 2017 Big Bang, or the 2018 Little Bang, what was the experience like for you? What are you looking forward to this time around?

I've participated in the 2018 CSLB and I really loved working with the writer I was paired with. It was fun, and so nice to talk about our ideas together.

What is your favorite piece of artwork you've made for OUAT?

Frozen Swan Aesthetic

Why is it your favorite? 

I'm really proud of both of these! The first one is just some appreciation for the love emma has in her life. The frozen swan aesthetic looks way better than I thought it would. I really liked including gifs in the aesthetic.
