#Repost @yimisport with @get_repost ・・・ A long standing myth in the Subaru community is that the stock air box does not pose a restriction at under 400whp. We just completed a test of the new AEM Cold Air Intake for the 2018+ STI and I can categorically say that large gains are easily available from the installation of a well designed intake system. Testing done on the same day with nothing physically changed other than the intake. Mapping was first optimised for the stock air box. After the AEM intake was installed, the only changes to the tune was rescaling the MAF calibration curve to match up airflow sampling to the previous configuration and reducing wastegate duty cycle to keep boost levels on target (a sure sign that compressor inlet restriction was dramatically reduced). 18.5whp gained with an intake that took less than 10 minutes to install.
