空きっ腹を抱えた仕事帰り、ふらりと引き寄せられるように近くのコンビニに入りました。
とりあえずの空きっ腹を埋めるのは、アイスにするか、はたまたデザートか、いやでも今日は肉を喰らいたい気分。
唐揚げが棒に刺さったやつ……所謂レジの前の保温ケースに入ったホットスナックの類のものを選んで、いそいそと車に戻って紙袋を破くと……
ん？唐揚げ、冷たい？
あちち！となるのを覚悟して紙袋の上から唐揚げを掴むと、あちち、どころか何だかひんやり……そして固い。
え？嘘でしょう？と紙袋から串を取り出すと、やっぱり冷たい。冷たいホットスナック。
あのケースの中のホットスナックって、ホットなスナックだと思っていたんですが、ホットじゃない場合というのもあるんですね……。
どうにもコレジャナイ感を抱えながら、固い唐揚げをもしゃもしゃ食べたのでした。

学生時代とか20代前半ぐらいの時、甘いものの好みというとケーキとかパフェとか洋菓子一択だったんですが。社会人になって数年経ったぐらいから、和の甘味も好んで食べるようになりました。
それこそ料理を選ぶ時に肉か魚かと問われたら、迷わず肉と答えていたんですが、最近はむしろ魚を選ぶことの方が多くなってきました。
こうやって味覚も年齢を重ねていってるんでしょうか……。
今は甘いものの中でもパフェやアイスが一番の大好物なんですが、そのうち「パフェより羊羹の方がええわ」とか言う日が来る……のか……？
