So here in Portland, just a few blocks from a level 1 evacuation order, the sky has been blotted out by massive amounts of smoke from the wildfires burning across my state and the entire west coast.
It's Sept 13, 2020 and it has been like this for almost a week. The air outside varies between the smell of a campfire and the pungent, acrid smell of the latest small town or neighborhood that has been razed.
It's now at the point where the inside our relatively well sealed and insulated apartment is full of hazardous air. My sinuses are ruined, my eyes are itching and watering almost constantly, and I'm starting to get a cough. There is no escape from the toxic air that is apparently so off the poor air quality charts that no one knows how bad this will be for people, I guess we get to find out, so hoorah for learning I guess.
I am lucky. My home is not in immediate danger of burning.
Over 40,000 people have had to evacuate their homes and 500,000 people have been warned to get ready to go at a moment's notice, and that's just Oregon.
Luckily and hopefully, it is supposed to rain tomorrow and tuesday (please weather give us rain) and with luck will bring us some respite from the fires. Send all of us here on the west coast some good vibes and prayers (if you roll that way) or better yet, donate some money, if you can spare, to help those of us who have lost everything.

Called a "once-in-a-generation event" by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, the wildfires of September 2020 have swept through some 300,000 acres of th
So, um, California is on fire...again.
It's in my neck of the woods...again.
And I'm evacuated from my house and out of my hometown for shelter.
Oh boy. It's been a day.
My family and I are safe, I just met up with mistahboyfriend and we're grabbing dinner before heading up to our friend's house. So far there's no reports of structural damage from the fires, and hopefully it stays that way.
Just keep us and the other Californians in the north bay area in your thoughts, that would be appreciated. I'll keep updates up best I can.
I love you all, stay safe.
My Oregon Fire Update
May as well post an update. Me and my mom are fine where we're from, but the damage that's done to other parts of Oregon takes a toll on me personally, and I am worried that the aftermath may bring the worst to come. I still hope for the best though.

Made it to my friend's house around midnight last night and just crashed once I got to the bed.
My brother-in-law is going to pull a 24 hour shift to fight against the fires, so please keep him in your thoughts if able ♡
I've taken the liberty of updating Ring Around the Rosie lyrics.

About every 2 days, I've been taking a photo of the PNW fire/smoke map from a satellite view. I'll post these in order from when I started taking them, back on the 8th.
Sorry about some of the pics, I was taking a photo of my computer screen
