2020 reminders:
1. Do not, I repeat DO NOT create unecessary suffering for yourself. One example would be allowing yourself to feel what you need to feel, and do not judge yourself for feeling it. Another would be to please, PLEASE don’t believe the fake scenarios you create in your head. They stem from past insecurities. They are not productive or helpful in anyway. Shrug them off like they mean absolutely nothing. They’re fake news.
2. Catch yourself in a negative thought spiral, and focus your attention on something entirely different. Art, change of surroundings, counting backwards, physical exercise, anything.
3. Do not over share. Sometimes, when you are still processing, it is best to keep to yourself until you have fully come to a conclusion. If you share too much or seek advice / feedback on a situation you have not finished processing yourself, you can be easily overwhelmed or even swayed by others’ opinions that are often just projections of their own past experience and can in turn cloud your own personal perspective. Do not over share. No matter how badly of an urge you get, process alone. Write it out, put it into your art, sit with it. Be uncomfortable in the not-knowingness of it. Answers always show themselves in time.
4. Allow yourself to feel and connect with people fully. You are enough, things ebb and flow. Strong connections take time. Yes attraction comes right away, but the real stuff takes time.
5. Be vulnerable as fuck and let yourself get hurt. You must. Or else you’ll never know what your pain threshold is. Be patient. Know that one person is not a quick-life-fix. Know that nothing works out unless you work yourself out first. Allow alone. Allow lonely. Allow discomfort. Sit in there and grow in there. You’ll have more wisdom for that in the long-run.
6. Nourish yourself daily. Eat well, exercise regularly, meditate. That’s your anchor.
7. Change is overwhelming and scary, but you’ve done it before, and you sure as hell can do it again.
