Slightly late 2022 resolution!
So each year I do a resolution but I first checkmark my 2021 resolution and then talk about my 2022 one!
Let’s goo see what I did~ (and didn’t do :v ) Prepare this is a long read.
2021 RESOLUTION!
"i hate vodkacranberry i'm sorry" - me today
so here i am. 7 am, late december, thinking about my 2022 resolution. i usually have one single goal bc that lets me focus at the task at hand (and it's easier to track).
my goal for this year was to open up emotionally. and i guess i did do it but it feels wrong at the same time.
like. this year, i did have my first romantic relationship since 2019. so that should count.
but then we broke up (for external reasons) and i sort of realised after it that i'm...extremely picky about my partners. not necessarily bad per se and it's mostly that i'm past my early-twenties and i know what i want so.
and after that, i did also reconnect with a friend and it made me realise than i'm fully capable of forgiving AND understanding people's reactions (at least long term). so that should also count.
i think the reason why it feels incomplete is that unconciously i was expecting myself to end the year in love or something.
and the reality is i'm emotionally single and i'm too old to lie to myself about the fact that none of the people i know rn would be a suitable romantic partner for me + my ex won't suddenly stop caring about his family's opinions.
Hat that says dogs love me men fear me.
One of my goals for 2022 is to buy less books (I bought over 200 books last year) and to focus more on reading books I already own. So to even things up between buying and reading I am going to try to limit myself to only buying as many books in one month as I have read the previous month. So for example I read 14 books in December thus my limit is 14 new books this month. Will I be able to stick to this? Probably not, I have very little self control, but it is my biggest goal for 2022.
Maybe 2022 will be the year I get my shit together and stop forgetting to take/pick up my seizure medication, which is dangerous and something I could easily avoid if I used my brain once in a while 🙃
