Rome, Italy 3/22 😌 Pt 1 of 2 I hung with a frozen street performer, a mystery one and a sand artist met an amazing street singer (who I hope to do a street serenade with one day), ate roasted chestnuts, admired the architecture and inculcated myself into the culture. While on a trip from Rome to Pompeii, Naples then to the airport….. My window view above the world I lived in over the last few days. Fine dining lunch in Naples overlooking the water and village, VIP breakfast and tour of the Vatican, walking through the ruins of Pompeii, seeing up close the immense beauty of Trevi fountain, The Spanish Steps, observing first hand the artistry and passion of Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo, standing in the Sistine chapel and other places formerly only known to me in history books and movies, taking in the culture of a people hundreds of miles away from my own, savoring familiar cuisines but from original sources, embarking upon my bilingual dreams one word, conversation and interaction at a time, becoming an international musician and playing my heart out on the piano in a country and for a diverse people that I’ve never experienced before… on a continent I’ve never been to before, absorbing the “speed”, rhythm and nuances of a different society, being the foreigner for once, adding significant value and “flavor” to others lives, intersecting with people from every corner of the globe and experiencing all this with people very dear to me while meeting others who would immediately become dear to me. Surreal, very real and just the beginning of the experiences, education and exposure that I so cherish about allowing myself to dream, manifest and then transcend. Stay tuned for what’s next. Vicarious living welcomed. It’s the first step to you too flying high. Let’s soar together.
