This is my birthday cake today. I love it!

She did an amazing job. Kind of sad it's gonna get eaten. But it would go to waste I'd not. Still, perfect. ☺ I'm 23 today. Good so far.

Feeling so much love today.

Birthdays used to make me so anxious but over the years I’ve managed to find so much ease and joy for this celebration of life. Having chill plans that include my family and friends, letting them unfold naturally without expectation, and truly enjoying the company and the people who love me.

I think everyone has weird feelings around self-celebration. Through cultivating immense self love, I’ve allowed those around me to love me as well. Accepting love on my birthday is so special now, I feel so comfortable being held and honored in a way that I used to never let myself.

I’m filled with so much gratitude today. Aging is scary and I find myself clinging onto moments, afraid that I’ll forget and lose them forever. The truth is that time passes and memories fade. I write and I write and I write and I take photos and I hug everyone tight and I breathe deeply and I try so hard to take it all in before the second passes by. As much as I try to stop time, I’ve made it through to another year. Isn’t that wonderful?
