today is the 11th anniversary of one direction ❤️ and although i was looking at memories of previous years, can we talk about how crazy last year’s anniversary was??? it was the craziest thing we experienced in the 1d fandom in a long time
i didnt expect anything and the surprise that i got was the best thing that happened to me last year, that day and all that week was my escape from reality aka pandemic
on the 22nd, the 1d account was active for the first time in a long time and they uploaded their first instagram story!!!
during the day they added the EPs rarities, live, acoustic and remixes and the songs truly mandly deeply, magic and irresistible; and at 00:00 on the 23 they were available along with the background videos of all the 1D songs on spotify. furthermore the 1d account changed its profile photo and header on all platforms and updated their website. also at 00:00 the special website for the 10 years came out
fun fact: someone created an account and a website called reason being. the website was redirected to the 1d website and all twitter and tiktok were convinced that they were going come back with another name 😂 (“reason being” ??? ugly asf hahahah)
during the early morning of the 23rd, interviews came out (by capital, spin radio, bbc and we even thought that an interview was going to come out on iheart radio and it ended up being this 😅) and this beautiful short video
the first to appear was liam who posted this beautiful photo on ig (he also tweeted) that confirmed that 1d was formed at 8:09 pm and not at 8:22 pm as for 10 years we believed :0
then louis appeared posting a tweet MENTIONING EVERYONE INCLUDING HARRY AND ZAYN. the first time in years and years that this happens and we all died :D
then niall appeared and Louis, Liam, Niall and the 1d account were active and interacting with each other (im not going to include all the ig stories of the 1d account because they also uploaded it as posts and to twitter lol) until BOOM louis uploads a 1d photo and we could see the face of his bandmates at the top of his feed for a while 💞 (and anne shared lou’s photo #supportyourfamily)
finally harry appeared 🥳 and all the accounts interacted together for a while <3
four boys had appeared, the one direction account was very active, nothing could be better until it was better because LOUIS BEGAN TO FOLLOW HARRY AND ZAYN ON IG
i wasnt expecting something (nor anyone i guess) but it was the BEST thing that could have happened to be honest, i had do much fun with my friends
after louis’ follow, some realised that harry didnt follow his mom (lol) and there was a discussion about whether he could hide his follows because there were people who counted harry’s follows and supposedly the number of follows when they counted them didnt match with the one that ig showed
then the 1d account said they were going to post the music videos in 4k and as always, there were already people *twitter moment* waiting for the infinity video haha
the fuckers who run the 1d account posted “we’re back” referring to the website but we all had a mini heart attack
the website for the anniversary was very nice and it brought back lovely memories. when you finished checking everything there was an envelope, which was opened on the 28th and it was a video of san siro that lasted one day :/
from the 24 to the 28 the 4k videos were uploaded and the audios of all the songs were uploaded too (one album per day) and the 1d account remained active (even uploaded polls) until the 29th when they said bye :(
the amount of things that happened those days is more than everything that happened in any anniversary from 2016 to 2019 together. those days we were all soooo excited. we had a lot of fun trending #directionersbreaktheinternet hehe
