Hi everybody, I come back today with a new post about an important race in the roller racing. It’s the 24h of Le Mans.
Since 2000, more than 100,000 participants attended the N ° 1 event in Europe focusing on the discovery and promotion of rollerblading, the mixing of genres and practices (leisure, competitions, demonstrations ...) on a mythical, world-renowned site: the Circuit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 24 HOURS ROLLERS per team take place on the circuit BUGATTI of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, long of 4.185 kilometers.
This is a competition on 24 Hours in relay by team of 2 to 12 riders and in solo. The Competition of the 24 H Rollers of Le Mans: up to 6 000 competitors representing more than 25 countries, 1000 cities / French communes, 41% of women. More than 100.000 participants since the 1st edition. The best international teams participate in Le Mans.
The goal is to travel the greatest distance in 24 hours, alternating (except category Solo). The laps are counted using 2 electronic timing chips provided to each team. 1 chip is installed on the person skating and the other on the person waiting for the next relay.
At this race the start is a little bit special because it is called “the start in sockets”. It means that at the starting signal, they crossed the track to lace up their skates and rush for 2 turns minimum.
