THE INDOOR RACE

Hi everybody! I wanted to share some pictures with you today of the first indoor race of this season in my region. The race was this sunday and took place on whole the day. It was organized by the roller club : Roller Sport Saint Pierrais.

I will explain to you guys the program of a race like that because it still the same on this type of race.

So first the day start at 10.00am with the people who races on a national level. They have 4 races : 2 of speed and 2 of middle distance. The number of laps varied depending on the category. Then, this is the lunch break during half an hour.

The afternoon, this is the turn of the kids who are in leisure. They start with a agility course where they are timed. After that, they do a speed race following by a long distance. Between two, the morning’s skaters race again.

And when all of it is done, this is the awards ceremony for every skaters.

THE 24H OF LE MANS

Hi everybody, I come back today with a new post about an important race in the roller racing. It’s the 24h of Le Mans. Since 2000, more than 100,000 participants attended the N ° 1 event in Europe focusing on the discovery and promotion of rollerblading, the mixing of genres and practices (leisure, competitions, demonstrations ...) on a mythical, world-renowned site: the Circuit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 24 HOURS ROLLERS per team take place on the circuit BUGATTI of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, long of 4.185 kilometers. This is a competition on 24 Hours in relay by team of 2 to 12 riders and in solo. The Competition of the 24 H Rollers of Le Mans: up to 6 000 competitors representing more than 25 countries, 1000 cities / French communes, 41% of women.  More than 100.000 participants since the 1st edition. The best international teams participate in Le Mans. The goal is to travel the greatest distance in 24 hours, alternating (except category Solo). The laps are counted using 2 electronic timing chips provided to each team. 1 chip is installed on the person skating and the other on the person waiting for the next relay. At this race the start is a little bit special because it is called “the start in sockets”. It means that at the starting signal, they crossed the track to lace up their skates and rush for 2 turns minimum.

Hello everyone !

I now come back with a new post and new things to share with you! I decided to ennoncer the different types of races in the roller races.

First thing you have to know : this is different between on a track, in a sport hall and on the road.

On a track, there are 3 speed types : - 200 m chronometer - 500m - 1000m

3 types of long distance - race inline (distance according to the category) - elimination race (5000m or more according to the number of skaters) - points race (3000m)

In a sport hall 2 types : - speed (1, 2, 3 or 4 laps) - long distance (10, 15 or 20 laps according to the category)

On the road : It’s almost the same as on a track but for the chronometer it’s 200m and not 300m.
