One more thought about 24x19. During one scene, Carisi hinted to Liv that he was having trouble sleeping, and Liv made another reference to that later in the episode. And it was funny because I had just commented on a TikTok video that as much as I love Carisi as an ADA and I really, really think he’s great at his job, I hate how much the job is taking from him.

He’s not the bubbly, sarcastic, overexcited guy he was when he was a cop. He’s still a sweetheart, but you can see the stress on his face (kudos to Peter for that). He always looks sad and angry, fighting the good fight like the whole world is resting on his shoulders. I just want to hug him.

I’m really glad he has his family now, because we saw what the job did to Barba and Stone and the rest of the ADAs. I don’t want the same ending for him.

Wow, Maxwell's husband is a real scumbag. And so is his defence attorney, trying to insinuate that Carisi is pursuing the case because there could be a promotion in it for him. Pffft. Great to see Carisi cut the asshat attorney down to size with a few choice words.

24x19 , Not the best episode, not a bad one either. We had two main stories tonight. On one side, we had the conclusion to the Velasco saga. I like Velasco, I really do. Of all the new characters from the Carisi as ADA era, he and Kat are my favorites. I’m glad they gave us more background on Joe. And being Mexican and actually from Juárez, I didn’t dislike the way they handled the Juárez and cartel storyline. These kinds of shows tend to be very biased and portray those topics badly, but SVU didn’t do a terrible job, maybe because Octavio Pisano is actually Mexican.

Anyway, it was an okay conclusion to his arc, I guess.

On the other hand, we had all the stuff with Miss Maxwell and her husband. For the life of me, I still don’t understand what her actual role is in the DA’s office. I know she’s Carisi’s boss, but what about Hadid? Did Carisi get a promotion and now he works directly with Maxwell? Who knows, I guess.

I felt sorry for her, her husband was a piece of crap. I think Carisi handled himself with a lot of integrity and did what was right.

Now, on a shallow note: that two-piece suit with the red tie and the pinstripe shirt he wore in court? Chef’s kiss. He looked so fucking good. I love that he clocked it in a second that the death of his boss’s husband wasn’t as accidental as it seemed. I guess those cop instincts are still sharp as hell.

And that final scene between Maxwell and Liv? Wow. Liv threw Maxwell’s own words right back at her.

Carisi looked like a damn snack, so yeah… I guess it was an okay episode.
