Developed by Donald Healey to be produced in house by Healey at Warwick, and based on the running gear of the Austin A80 Atlantic. Donald Healey produced a one of show car for the 1952 British Motor Show, the design so impressing Austin Managing Director, Leonard Lord that a deal was struck to build the car in quantity at the Austin Longbridge plant, with finishing and trimming completed by Jensen at West Bromwich. The 100/4 shared the same engine and manual transmission as the Austin A90 Atlantic but the transmission was modified to be a three-speed unit with overdrive on second and top. Girling drum brakes are fitted all round. Front suspension is independent using coil springs and at the rear is a rigid axle with semi elliptic leaf springs. The steering is by a cam and lever system. Diolch am 98,463,824 o olygiadau gwych, mae pob un ohonynt yn cael eu gwerthfawrogi'n fawr.
