obligatory yearly post but what is there to fucking say. my sister should be 21; instead she died before she was born and everyone has slowly forgotten about her but me. if I'm honest, even me. most days I don't think about her, a concept unimaginable to the me of a decade ago. now I'm an age where people are having babies on purpose, where I was planning on having a baby on purpose until my life got changed last year, and the quasi-activism I engaged in as a younger teen would hit different coming from me now.
still if it hadn't been for Emma's dying and the subsequent coverup I would probably not have disliked my parents as much, and would probably have opted to go to a university closer to them, and would maybe even have been in a mental state to get into Cambridge or something, and would not have met 90% of the people who are meaningful to me now and certainly not the love of my life, and that's mostly how I think about it these days, as an event that changed my life rather than a person I knew and am grieving, because I didn't ever meet her and everyone was counting on me forgetting she existed.
still the year these posts stop is the year I'm dead too, or this website is, because I can't bear to think of her fading to total unknown-ness
