The "not getting pregnant" issue was pinpointed to me setting npc pregnancy chances to zero in Whims. Which I'm keeping that way because I'm sick enough of those townies in their apartments adopting horses 😅 They need to prove to me that they can be trusted with the responsibility of poop making objects, and so far I'm unconvinced.

Fortunately Patchy is around to help out.

Did you know that once the object ages up, Patchy can actually perform some of the childcare? It seems to be restricted to only one (but still very useful) function for infants - namely if you play as the infant, they can ask him to feed them.

Toddlers however can ask him to not only feed them, but bathe them, play and teach them flash cards.
