HACKATHON
The department hackathon is coming up THIS WEEK,
October 24-26th! The theme is *personal websites*. If you already have one, feel free to make whatever you want :)
General details:
Time: 5pm Friday 24th- 10am Sunday 26th
Where: SCI 277
Theme: Personal Websites! (Or whatever you want)
Food: Clover (!!!), other catered goods, etc.
Prizes: HELLA.
=> We aren't expecting you to be coding the ENTIRE time; it is midterms season, you have other work to do. This is the set time frame for having a designated space open where you can feel free to get started on your personal website/project and get some pressure/help to finish it. Keep in mind we'll be presenting projects (and getting T-shirts~) after catered lunch on Sunday. We just want to see what you made and how you made it :)
FAQ:
Q: I am a noob! I don't know how to do anything!
A: Don't worry! There will be people on site to help with this.
Q: I don't want to make a personal website. I already have one/don't care for it.
A: Feel free to do your own personal project!
Q: Can I go for part of the time and not the entire thing? I need sleep/homework/studying time.
A: For sure! Ideally you'd have a finished/close to finished product by Sunday. If you don't finish, not a bad thing! We won't catapult you to Pluto. Ultimately, this is a learning experience for everyone and we want this to be fun!
