Yo! Today I learned about sth pretty cool that is going to happen in my school and as I`m really excited about it I decided to share with you! =)
Sooo, maybe some of you have heard about The Pink Shirt Day. For these who haven`t, here`s the story:
On the first day of school, a grade 9 student was ridiculed by a group of bullies for wearing a pink shirt. The students accused him of being gay and threatened to beat him.
Two senior students at the school, were saddened by this incident and decided to take matters into their own hands. They bought 50 pink t-shirts and encouraged their classmates online to join their protest.
On the next day, not only were the 50 pink shirts quickly grabbed by participating students, hundreds more showed up wearing their own pink clothing and accessories. The taunted grade 9 student received a tremendous amount of support and the bullies quickly backed off.
This is how it all started - from a school and now all around the world!
And in my school, too! I`m always very happy when there are such campaigns. Nothing like this has happened in my school before and I feel really proud now!
I really hope you`ll take part in this. It`s not hard to show your support - just wear a pink shirt! Or sth pink, no matter what. The day is 27th Feb.
Bullying is a world problem. We all can give an example of bullying at school. But we can stop it! If we act together. So don`t be selfish or try to be "cool". Being neutral isn`t cool anymore.
