Guess what today was, another drive day. Lucky me. Well yes, lucky me, I was driving through Europe after all. We were off to Amsterdam!!
Even though we were all really excited to go to Amsterdam, it was a sad morning. We were saying goodbye to Chris and Adam. Gave them both extra long hugs, we planned to meet up again in Munich in 10 days so I wasn't too sad, I was going to see them again.
Too soon we were on the way to Amsterdam. I sat in the 'jump seat' up the front for most of the day. I didn't want to miss any of the scenery that was passing by. Just as we were entering Amsterdam, we stopped in at a Clogs and Cheese factory.
The family that ran this factory was absolutely crazy but it was hilarious. He kept picking on everyone, and insisted on calling me a 'naughty little woman' in this silly little voice. I honestly could not stop laughing the entire time, I'm pretty sure my face was bright red from lack of oxygen by time the tour was over.
After that fun stop, we made our way into Amsterdam and to our hostel. The Hans Brinker. Which is actually famous for being the worst hostel and it definitely lives up to that. Not too bad though, we weren't going to be spending all our time there, just needed somewhere to crash for the nights.
We basically had time to throw our bags into our rooms before heading off for a walk through the city/red light district. This was an interesting walk to say the least. We walked down this street called 'Skinny Alley' which is called that, because the girls are skinny, but the alley itself is about a metre wide. And yeah, the girls are really skinny but also looked really bored. Its pretty awkward when you see people go into their rooms.
Its literally a glass door and window with a bed and once someone goes in there, they close the curtains. We walked past so many closed curtains. Its like yeah, there are people having sex literally a metre away from us. We saw this old guy go in a room. That was incredibly weird and awkward to see.
After walking around for an hour or so, it was time for the sex show. Oh god.
We were all doing it, it was one of Topdeck optional extras and seeing as it was our second last night we thought it would be a great last bonding experience. And so it was.
So 34 of us packed out 'The Moulin Rouge' all getting a free drink on entry. I was so glad that I got to sit next to Mark, he was just as scared as I was about seeing this show. The whole lead up to it he kept making jokes and keeping it light hearted for me, which I really appreciated.
And then the show started.
The first girl lit a candle and put it inside her, then did this dance thing.. I don't know why anyone would ever do that, can you imagine getting hot wax in your hooha. That went on for about five minutes, Mark and were seriously relieved when she finished, we were fearing for her safety.
The second girl did another little dance, then undressed herself and pulled a ribbon out of herself. Then got on of the boys onto the stage, was giving him a lapdance and then wrapped him up in the ribbon. Poor Lindo. He looked absolutely horrified when she started tying him up, it was quite funny just watching his face.
The next girl started pole dancing, she was seriously good at it, then she was twerking. This girl could dance. She got another boy up on stage, Steve. She took his shirt off and made him lie down. She put a pen up there and wrote on his chest. She had surprisingly good handwriting to be honest. 'Topdeck <3's Moulin Rouge 2013'. I was so proud of those boys for being brave enough to go on stage. I would never be able to.
The next act was a couple. In Amsterdam you have to be a married couple if you are going to 'perform' in a sex show together. This couple was an odd one. The guy was quite young, 25 at most, whereas the lady was at least 40 and we were all fairly certain she used to be a man. Anyway the got on with there bit of the show, which was the most mentally scarring if I am completely honest. Live sex is not at all good to watch. Its awful and I wanted to be sick. They finally finished, well not 'finished', but their part was over, thank god.
The last act of the night was this dancing lady. She made five of us get up on stage to dance with her. I was so scared, she was walking in my direction when picking people, thank god she pick Siobhan who was sitting on my other side. My heart was literally about to burst through my chest. So she got two girls and three boys onto the stage, Siobhan, Josh H, Rhi, Josh and Ashley.
At one point she got a banana, unpeeled it and put it down there. Then made everyone take a bite. Poor little Ashley was the last to go. By that stage there was hardly anything left of the banana. He took it like a man when she basically shoved it in his mouth. I felt so bad for the poor guy.
Finally that was over, we all needed heavy liquor by this point in the night, and it was not hard to find some. We bought Ashley whatever he wanted that night, he had earned it.
I only had a couple drinks, then made my own way back to the Hans Brinker and had the mission of trying to get onto the top bunk with no ladder.
