(2015) Michel Gondry.
I had a trilogy to complete, and complete that trilogy I did. I think I said this in my Shaun of the Dead post but I have very little nostalgia for this film since I only watched it once and I remember not really liking it the one time I did watch it. In hindsight, no fucking idea why! I think I might like this more than Shaun of the Dead, albeit it's not touching Hot Fuzz. Even so, it's funny, clever, well paced, good setup, really fun setpieces, and the characters have nice chemistry. It was fun basically having no memory of this movie because all the jokes were fresh as well, and a lot of them got me. "What the fuck does WTF mean?" got a particularly good chuckle out of me. Nice time. More than anything else it feels nice going from "Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are good but The World's End is kinda eh" to "wait a minute they're actually all great", so shoutouts to that.
