When people hear Africa, they often picture stereotypes—dark skin tones and commonly portrayed traditions. But few truly know the rich and diverse cultures of North Africa, especially that of the Amazigh people.
We are not a monolith. In Tamazgha (North Africa), you’ll find people of all shades—white, brown, and black. Our diversity is what makes us unique. 💫
They call us Berbers, but our true name is Amazigh, which means "The Free People." It’s how our ancestors proudly described themselves. Our homeland is called Tamazgha, and we speak Tamazight, one of the oldest languages in the world—still alive, still spoken, still strong. 🗣️✨
Our flag tells the story of our land: 💙 Blue for the sea 💚 Green for the forests 💛 Yellow for the desert ❤️ And the red symbol "ⵣ" represents freedom, a value rooted deeply in our blood.
We are also known for our deep-rooted feminism. History remembers powerful Amazigh women like: 👑 Queen Dihya, who led fierce resistance against invaders 👑 Tin Hinan, the queen of the Tuareg 📚 Fatma Al-Fihri, who founded the world's first university in Fez
Our culture is rich with vibrant tattoos, beautiful language, and centuries of resilience.
While the world marks the year 2025, for us, it is 2975—and every year, we celebrate the victory of our Amazigh king Shah Chanak over Pharaoh Ramses II in Egypt. 🎉
We are Amazigh. We are the Free People. ⴰⵣⵓⵍ (Azul) from Tamazgha!
AG: It only makes sense that I would be the one to cre8te him. AG: Since I am also going to 8e the one to kill him.
And how, exactly, are you going to do that?
We know it can't be through raw combat ability - we saw Vriska reach her limit in that department when she fought Aradia.
EB: if he is as strong as karkat says, he will probably kill you! AG: Karkat doesn't know nothing a8out anything. AG: He never really appreci8ted how powerful I 8ecame. No8ody did! I am easily the strongest troll 8y far. AG: I am also extremely lucky! That is one of my powers, John. 8eing super lucky, and making my foes super UNlucky. ::::)
That said, she seems convinced that she's currently stronger than all the trolls, Aradia included.
Presumably she's factoring in her luck manipulation - an Aspect power that must be fairly new, otherwise she'd have whipped it out during Make Her Pay.
EB: you sound pretty cocky! you should be careful about that, that is totally how people have bigtime downfalls. EB: especially when they act kind of nefarious!!! AG: Nope, I don't have to 8e careful! Too lucky for caution to matter anymore. Them's the 8r8ks!
I don't think Vriska is quite as confident as she's pretending to be.
Back in her walkaround, she was tapping Aradia for information on Jack's weaknesses, and any tactical insights she had. She is, in fact, taking this fight seriously - so deep down, she knows her victory isn't assured.
AG: 8ut don't worry, once all is said and done in your session, and 8y some incredi8ly lucky 8r8k of your own you manage to survive the scratch, we might actually get the chance to meet. AG: And if so, assuming I haven't gotten too 8ored w8ting around and mopped the floor with Jack already, may8e we can take him down together!
That's a weirdly heartfelt sentiment from Vriska.
EB: i am not sure who would make me more nervous, you or jack.
So I imagine that this - while understandable - really hurt.
EB: um, if we meet… EB: are you going to… [...] AG: John, what the hell are you trying to say? EB: karkat said that… EB: you might…
Oh my god, John. This is not the time!
