When asked about her baby sister, Charlee’s response is usually “first she was in my mom’s tummy, now she’s here and she’s my sister and she sleeps. a lot.” Melissa and Chris welcomed the newest addition to their family on November 13th and family Thanksgiving meant impromptu photoshoot for the newest addition. Born on one of the most blustery days of the year, her nickname is already “Hurricane Harper”. Here’s hoping her toddler years don’t live up to the name!
Noelle and Ted are a unique couple. Their October wedding at The Globe and reception at the Calgary Zoo was a celebration of everything they love and the people that love them. From Noelle's hand designed and knitted owl and the pussy cat wedding dress, to Ted having their first dance song re-recorded just for them by the original artist, to the late night omelette bar and candy buffet, each and every detail was full of fun and whimsy. With just a touch of snow and a whole bunch of pancakes, this wedding was absolutely perfect, as is our newly wedded couple. Congrats Ted and Noelle!
Holiday photo shoots are not often blessed with sunny weather. The Kaufman family lucked out this year and we scored the perfect Washington mild winter day. Perrin, now 2 years old is busier than ever and eyed every puddle, forbidden building and way more fun playground Hovander Park had to offer. Despite her lack of interest in photos, she proved once again, to be an A+ subject. Happy Holidays!
Welcome to the world Baby Biscuit!
If you’ve ever looked at this blog, you know that babies are our favorite. This little one is affectionately known as “Baby Biscuit” by her parents and community “pit crew”. We love her green mushroom onesie, which highlights the love her mama Terri, an educator on sustainable farming and environmentally responsible food practices, has for the earth.
Terri and her partner Connor adopted baby Biscuit just after her birth in March. They bonded quickly with her birth family and have created a bi-coastal, loving extended family for this long awaited, and much loved little one.
It was such a gift to be able to record the early months of Baby Biscuit and we look forward to many photo worthy moments!
Charlee and her parents, Melissa and Chris enlisted us to take some family photos out at Hovander Park in Ferndale, WA on the last nice day we saw in Whatcom County before the snow set in! You may recognize Charlee from a few other event’s we’ve been lucky enough to photograph, like her birth and her first birthday, we actually shot Missy’s maternity photos here at Hovander Park 2 years ago! Charlee is 2 years old now and despite a rather short attention span, has blossomed into our #1 top model! Getting a big smile out of a bored 2 year old is not the easiest feat to accomplish, but with a plastic clapper, a squeaky toy, and breaks for cartoons, we managed to capture this cutie in all of her glory. We can’t wait to photograph Charlee’s next milestone!
Welcome to the world Perrin June! Our poster couple, Matt and Rachel welcomed their first little one into the world on June 25th 2016 at 4:39pm. We were on the scene to capture some of the first photos of Perrin in the hospital and at home her first day. Don’t worry about the one where she’s crying guys, she just didn’t want her diaper changed. No babies were harmed for the purpose of capturing a memorable image.
You may remember Matt and Rachel from a couple of our previous posts, they are officially our most photographed couple and the first couple we have been able to follow from engagement, to wedding, and now to their first baby, Perrin June, due June 25th. Despite being uncomfortably pregnant on what we have now discovered was the hottest day of the year so far, Rachel was a trooper. We hiked up Panorama Ridge near the couples home in Mount Vernon and searched for the perfect spot, and the perfect light to shoot their last photos as non-parents. We love these photos, not only because the light was amazing and the subjects were adorable, but because they showcase what will soon be our brand new niece! Welcome to the world Perrin June, we can’t wait to meet you!
