A ⇴ AFFECTION

Jay is incredibly affectionate around you; he loves to have you nice and close to him and be able to wrap his arms around you. He feels incredibly supported when he’s able to hold out and touch you and know that you’re beside him.

B ⇴ BEFORE DATING

He’s not shy of confidence, so when you caught his eye in a local coffee shop, he was more than happy to go over and say hello. You were surprised for a few moments by his sudden appearance in front of you, but as he began to introduce himself, you couldn’t help but tell him all about yourself too, allowing him to get to know you.

C ⇴ CONFESSION

After a few dates together, Jay knew that he wanted to make things official with you. He made sure to pull out all of the stops to try and impress you, making sure that you had the best table at the restaurant that he planned to take you too. His confession was very honest, you could tell that he was talking from the heart, he wanted you to know exactly how he felt and exactly where he could see his future going with you.

Jay loves to spoil you; he loves to treat you nicely and take you to fancy places. He might not appear like someone who will sit down to a meal, but if it’s what you want, he’s more than happy to get dressed up and take you somewhere nice. He loves to show off to you, before dates, he’ll often appear at your front door with a gift, usually a bouquet of flowers, to set the tone of the evening nicely. He loves to have dates at the studio too when he’s working late so he can dedicate some time to you in his busy schedule.

E ⇴ EXPERIENCE

There had been a few brief dates and very short relationships in Jay’s life, but nothing ever felt as serious as things did with you. For the first time, he really felt as if he wanted to settle down with you and really begin to think about the future. He was nervous to begin with about the amount of time he could spend with you and if you’d understand his career, but over time, things naturally began to work themselves out. It surprised him sometimes how well your relationship worked, but one thing was for sure, he never took it for granted.

F ⇴ FIGHTING

The two of you definitely had a few little arguments every now and then, at times Jay was quite guilty of being stubborn and knowing what he wanted without listening to anyone else. If the two of you argued, he’d tend to go to the studio for a while rather than figuring things out straight away and would often come back with a gift in hand to try and apologise to you. He knows at times he can be stubborn, and he knows that it’s not fair on you so he always makes sure to accept that he can be at fault, as much as he’d like to suggest otherwise. He’s very good at sorting things out between the two of you and not letting things drag out.

G ⇴ GETTING TO KNOW HIS FAMILY

With his family split around the world, it was difficult for you to really get to know Jay’s family. You relied heavily on calls, Jay loved to get you over whenever he spoke to a member of his family so he could introduce you or tell them all about the things that the two of you had been doing together as a couple.

H ⇴ HOME

He was quite keen to move you into his house after just a couple of months as he loved having you around. At times, his house was very quiet, and he was desperate to have someone around who he could bounce ideas off of or greet when he came home from work. And you just so happened to be the perfect solution to that.

I ⇴ “I LOVE YOU”

Jay was the first one of the two of you to say, ‘I love you,’ when he came home from work one day to see that you’d waited up for him with a meal warmed in the oven. It was only a small gesture from you, but after the day that Jay had had at work, you had no idea how much he needed it and how grateful he was for you.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY

There aren’t too many times when Jay feels jealous, he’s confident in himself and you, he knows that not many guys would be able to compare to him. He loves to see you talking to people and getting to know his friends and staff at the label, so he doesn’t tend to get jealous. If he does get jealous, he’ll silently make his way into conversation, he’ll tend to show off his muscles a little more and begin to throw his weight around you to make it clear to everyone that you are his and no one else can have a look.

Before meeting you, Jay hadn’t thought too much about children as he was so dedicated to his work. However, as your relationship began to progress, he definitely found himself thinking about it a little more. He was nervous more than anything about how he’d fit a family into his life, but after many late-night talks with you about the future, he began to realise that maybe it was something that the two of you could solve together.

L ⇴ LAUGHTER

Jay loved to make you laugh more than anything else in the world, it was exactly the sound he needed to hear at the end of a long day. He loved to come home and wrap his arms around you and tickle your sides until he was able to hear your giggle around the house. It was natural as well for him to just find himself laughing around you, at times you could just be doing nothing, but just the sight of you brought a smile to his face. Not many people had seen this sort of side to Jay before, but they loved seeing just how happy he was with you.

M ⇴ MISSING

Homesickness wasn’t something Jay felt often as he spent so much time away from his family, however, being away from you was a whole new chapter. He didn’t realise quite how much he needed your company until you weren’t there anymore. When he was on the road, he’d often send gifts to your place to make sure that you knew he was thinking of you and missing you. If the chance presented itself too, he’d fly you to wherever he was in the world in a heartbeat, only if it was for a few days. One thing Jay never did was turn down the opportunity to see you, no matter even if it was just for a few minutes or hours.

N ⇴ NICKNAMES

He loved to call you ‘love,’ Jay was quite traditional in that sense, he wasn’t one for fancy or over the top nicknames, he much preferred to keep things simple, still knowing that it was enough to put a smile on your face.

Jay was obsessed with your bum, he loved to rest his hands against it or lay against it at night. He couldn’t help but instinctively place his hands there must of the time and pinch you gently.

Being affectionate in public wasn’t a huge deal for Jay, he was more than happy to hold your hand or keep his arms around you. He wasn’t someone that was too dramatic about affection, he knew he had an image to uphold in that regard, but he still always made sure to keep you nice and safe and make sure that you felt loved around him.

There were often many times when he’d ask you for help or reassurance. He tried to put on a straight face for everyone at the company, but when he was having a difficult time, he’d always turn to you just to give him that push.

Whenever he went on the road, Jay would leave little notes around the house for you to find. He never really wanted other people to see how romantic he was, but he couldn’t help himself when it was just you and him. You’d often find little pieces of paper in the most random of places that he’d left lying around for you to find. Always making sure to remind you that he loved you and couldn’t wait to see you above anything else.

It was always a very passionate affair, Jay had a bit of a cocky aura about him when things got intimate, he loved to guide you and be the dominant one. He knew what he wanted from you, and he’d always make sure he got it. With that being said, he always took the best care of you too, he knew exactly what you liked from him, and even if he was a bit of a tease to begin with, you always got what you wanted too in the end.

You’d often get random texts from Jay throughout the day. If you were on his mind, it was just an instinct in him to text you and let you know that you were in his thoughts and that he couldn’t wait to see you at home.

A lot of people didn’t really know Jay, he’d portrayed himself to the world in the way he wanted to be seen. But around you, he truly felt like he could be himself, a little more like Jaebeom and a little less like Jay.

Whenever he had a bit of time, Jay loved to take you on holiday and make sure that you felt special. Your holidays would usually involve going somewhere so that you could meet up with a few members of his family and meet face to face. You would never complain though, you loved meeting all those that were closest to him.

He tended to crave your attention quite a lot, and if he didn’t, he’d be sure to kick up a fuss until he had your eyes very firmly on him.

You’d often feel his lips press against you whenever he had his arms around you, it almost became second nature for him. Jay would always make sure to kiss you first thing in the morning and last thing at night in the hope that you’d go to sleep dreaming of him. You loved to wind him up too by swerving his kisses or dodging out of the way, he’d always make sure to grab you a little tighter and refuse to let go until he got what he wanted.

You were his teammate, the two of you made the perfect partnership together.

The two of you would always make sure to sleep as close as you could to be honest. Whenever Jay was on tour, he’d fill your wardrobe with shirts and hoodies, so you had plenty of reminders of him to fall asleep with.

Winner ~ Jay Park

Your arms wrapped around Jay as soon as he walked down the flight of stairs, coming off the stage with his trophy firmly in his grip. Once you’d embraced him, you pulled back to get a closer look at the award he’d won, smiling proudly across at him.

“You deserve this,” you smiled, jabbing against his chest, “you’ve worked so hard, it’s about time you got some recognition for it all.”

Jay couldn’t hide the proud smile he wore on his face, he was usually so humble, but you were right. He’d worked himself to the bone over recent years to get himself to a place he was happy to be.

A place that included you.

“I couldn’t have done it without you,” he replied, slinging his arm around your shoulders, “this award isn’t just for me, it’s for you as well, for always sticking by my side.”

Your head shook, pushing the award into his chest as he tried to offer it out for you to hold. It was his hard work that had won him the award, you played no part in his success, even if he liked to try and suggest otherwise.

As you took a step closer into his chest, you felt his lips press to your forehead, letting go of a light chuckle. The whole situation felt so surreal to Jay, to be able to win such a prestigious award, and have the woman of his dreams stood beside him too.

“I never imagined I’d be able to make this work,” he whispered suddenly, “everyone tried to warn me that dating would put an end to my career, but it’s done anything but that.”

“People told you that we shouldn’t date?” You questioned.

His head shook, quickly pressing a reassuring kiss to the top of your head. “They were just worried; I know that those around me only ever want me to be happy. I’ve seen for myself the effects a relationship can have for some people, but I was determined that I was going to make this work.”

Whilst your head nodded, a small wave of uncertainty still hit you. You never wanted to be an obstacle in Jay’s way, in fact, you tried to do the complete opposite.

“Don’t worry,” Jay whispered, “there’s no need to panic about it, we’ve proved them all wrong the people who doubted us. This trophy just proves it.”

Jay moved his latest award around so that it was in clear view to you, reminding you of the hard work the two of you had done as a couple. “I never want to get in the way of your career Jay.”

“You have never done, and you never will,” he assured you, “I need you by my side, otherwise how would I end up winning awards like this. You’re the missing piece of the puzzle that I’ve needed to fulfil everything that I’ve ever wanted in life.”

“You’d have won that award tonight regardless of me.”

“No way, you’re the reason for it all.”

Island ~ Jay Park

“Doesn’t it feel strange?” Jay whispered across to you, bringing your eyes back across to look at him.

It took you a few moments to process he was in front of you, feeling your mind fogged by thoughts of anything but what was currently going on. You sighed gently, resting your head in your hand with your elbow propped up on the dining table.

“What were you saying?” You asked him, feeling terrible as his eyes rolled.

He shuffled closer towards the table, “you need to stop worrying so much about things and switch off for a while. Put yourself on airplane mode so that no one can distract you.”

Your body sunk as Jay tried to force a smile onto your face. He was too aware of all the things that had been going on in your life recently and how busy you were. He tried to distract you and provide you with a place where you could forget about it all, but nothing ever seemed to work.

“We need to find an escape for you,” he stated, “somewhere that allows you to just be in your own bubble.”

“I don’t even think a deserted island would do that right now.”

He couldn’t help but chuckle at your sarcasm, but still your face remembered expressionless. He wanted to be that island that you could turn to but being in the city where everything reminded you of the never-ending list of things for you to do stopped you from treating him as such a thing.

“I’m worried about you,” he admitted, stretching his hand out across the table for your free hand to take. “I’m afraid that you’re not telling me everything and that you’re trying to deal with this all by yourself.”

“There’s nothing you can do Jay, there’s no need to worry.”

His head shook, squeezing gently against your fragile hand, “I won’t give up until I make the problems go away, I’ll guide you in the right direction. You have to stay by my side and trust that I can help you Y/N.”

You hated relying on Jay for anything, you prided yourself on being an independent person, even if sometimes things got too tough. You’d kept much of what had been going on bottled up, deciding that carrying the burden yourself would be much more beneficial for you both.

“We can find an ending to whatever is going on if you stay by my side,” Jay added as you continued to remain quiet. “I treasure you, and I want to rescue you from all these dark clouds and welcome in a brighter sky.”

“It’s not that easy,” you murmured.

Nothing was easy in life, Jay had learnt that the hard way, but with that, he’d become one of the most stubborn and resilient men in the industry. And that applied to your relationship too. Whatever the struggle was, he always fought it through until he found the solution.

You heard his chair drag across the floor as he stood up to walk around to your side of the table. His arms wrapped around you and scooped you up, sitting you down in his lap as he took over the warm spot you’d left on the chair.

“We face this together,” he urged, squeezing his arms tighter around your waist, “tell me what I need to do, and I’ll do it in a heartbeat.”

“You can be the sun who tries to push through the crowds,” you suggested, using his own analogy against him.

Over the next few weeks Jay took on that role perfectly, making sure to always provide you with a bit of happiness when things got tough. Slowly, you began to feel those dark clouds push away, the fog in your mind began to clear and be replaced by thoughts of sunshine and happiness.

Jay was over the moon to see the changes in you too, knowing that you were finally able to move away from the feelings of loneliness and abandonment was all that he ever wanted. He was able to come home and see you greet him with a smile again, something which he’d not seen in a very long time.

Once your schedule finally cleared, Jay lived up to his promise, deciding to take you away, to an island just like one you’d dreamt of going to one during your darkest days.

“This is nice,” you giggled as he walked over to you from the bar, a bucket of champagne in his hands, as well as the cocktail you’d asked him to buy for you. “What’s with the champagne?”

“It’s a celebration.”

“Of what?” You queried.

“We’re celebrating the fact that you’ve got a smile on your face again,” he informed you, taking a seat on the sun lounger beside you that was hidden perfectly in the shade under two large palm trees. “And we’re also celebrating that rather end up on an island in a bad place, you’ve come here with a positive outlook on life again.”

It was a moment you often questioned if you’d ever enjoy again, the smile you wore was something you never imagined seeing again. Despite Jay’s arguments, you knew the reason for your smile again was down to him and everything that he’d done for you.

“I don’t think I’d be in a place like this if it wasn’t for your support, making sure that I stayed right by your side.”

Jay placed the drinks on the table between you both before reaching across for your hand, exactly the same way he had done that night at the table when he promised to help you out of your hole.

“You fail to see how strong you are sometimes.”

“I’m strong because of you,” you argued, shooting a smile across to him. “Could you imagine how different things might have been if you weren’t around.”

“I like to think that you actually would have ended up on a deserted island,” he laughed, “I could just imagine you surviving all by yourself all day, you’re stubborn enough to do it too.”

Whilst the thought had definitely crossed your mind, the island you found yourself on now was something much better than you could have ever imagined. No one knew the two of you, you were just two people in love, enjoying each other’s company.

“I like being here, it really does feel like an escapism,” you whispered.

“That’s what is so good about an island, nobody knows us, or our stories, they have no idea about the darkness that has clouded us for so long, they just see us happy people, which is exactly who we will be from now on.”

“Do you think the clouds will come back?”

It was a small worry Jay often had, but he trusted that he’d be able to push them aside, and he knew now too that you had the strength to get through it all too.

“I don’t,” he told you, not wanting to let you know about his concerns, “we can just remember the feelings we have on the island, and we can try and make sure we carry those through to when we get home too.”

“I don’t ever want to leave this island,” you smiled, “I like the sunshine, and the bright skies it has.”

“Every day for you now, will have a bright sky. I promise.”

Say My Name ~ Jay Park

“Has something happened?” Jay questioned as you fell silent once again on the other end of the call. Since the two of you started talking, Jay could tell that something had been going on. Your answers were brief, your eyes looked anywhere but to him, and your cheeks were a dark shade of red.

But your head shook in response to his question, despite the obvious signs. Jay wasn’t one to push things, but when he was on the other side of the world, and knew that something was wrong, he couldn’t help but be filled with concern.

“You can tell me,” he continued to assure you, brushing his hand over the top of your head, “why don’t you want to open up to me?”

“I don’t need to burden you,” you whispered, staring down into your lap, avoiding the screen in front of you, “you’re in America, you should be focusing on what you’re doing out there.”

Instantly, Jay’s head shook, although you couldn’t see. Regardless of where he was in the world it wouldn’t change the fact that he’d be worried about you and want to be there to support you.

“I’m still with you,” he whispered, trying keep himself calm, not allowing the frustrations of your silence to get the better of him.

“How?” You sighed, turning your glance up to look at his image on your laptop screen.

Jay’s expression softened as soon as he met the look of your eyes, “just call my name and I’ll be there, no matter where I am in the world. You know that you’re never a burden for me, America, Korea, anywhere in the world, I want to be able to help you.”

Your hand brushed through your hair, feeling your heart begin to pound in your chest. Jay’s support had always been something you valued, but you never wanted to be the one that took it for granted.

“I’ve got an hour before I have to go anywhere, so why don’t you tell me what’s up?” He questioned, “I don’t want you to feel like you have to go through all of this by yourself Y/N.”

“I am all by myself though,” you sighed, looking around at the empty room you sat in, “I’ll talk to you when you get back from America more, I don’t want you to worry now.”

“How can I not worry when I know there’s something wrong?” He pushed, slowly allowing his temper to get the better of him, “I’m not home for another three weeks, I can’t go that long without knowing what’s hurting you.”

You let go of a soft sigh, there was no way that Jay was going to go anywhere. He wanted to help you and support you, even if you didn’t want him to, that was never going to stop him being there for you.

“I have the time for you, so use it, please,” he asked of you, “don’t leave me to worry for weeks about this Y/N, open up.”

“Alright,” you admitted, “I’ll tell you what’s been going on…”
