Thoughts on Hakoda finding out about what Ozai did to Zuko and being like "If the avatar doesn't kill the fire lord I'll do it myself"?

yes. because dadkoda is superior we been knew . He finds out aang didn't kill ozai and he’s like Oooo you better get him. because I’ll get him for you. And maybe zuko is a little terrified at how fiercely Hakoda wants to protect him but honestly no one else was going to say it,,

Au where atla has different languages so like Bato and Hakoda in the fire nation for diplomatic talks and they’re homesick so they just slip into their native tongue when they’re around each other and they call each other love and my heart in their language and no one knows what the fuck they’re ever talking abt except Sokka and Katara (1/2)

+ and at some point some dignitary is being an asshole while talking to Hakoda and Bato just starts roasting him in Inuktitut and Hakoda is just barely holding his laugh in bc Bato can be hilarious when he wants and it’s like that black panther scene where the guys like can he speak English? No because wait I love this omg ???? It’s actually adorable because they feel like the terms of endearment in Inuktitut cover what they mean far more than the terms of endearment in English. Plus we get Bato talking shit and people not know what he’s saying. I love this sm omg

Bato is head of the pakku hate club

As he fucking should be. Honestly Hakoda likes to tell people that he founded the pakku hate club when everybody knows that it was Bato. I mean the way Bato looks at Pakku during meetings? Oh Pakku is lucky that he’s a merciful man. Oh and don’t even get me started on how he reacted when he found out Pakku wouldn’t teach Katara. I imagine Hakoda is holding Bato back like honey, I’m glad you feel this way but listen. Listen he’s nothing but a senile old man. Katara could outbend him in her sleep. Okay? and maybe it takes a little (tm) but more convincing but Bato eases off of Pakku for that. But then Pakku has the audacity to pull the self-righteous act when he tries to get back with Kanna and sure Hakoda isn’t having it but Bato isn’t having it. He’s like she had a full life, a wonderful husband, and a loving son all without you and your sexist bullshit. And okay Hakoda is a little smug because that’s my husband but Bato is dead serious. He’d protect Hakoda’s family with his damn life and if it means going up against some thickheaded master waterbender then so be it.

Do you think that all the kids from the invasion plan thought that Hakoda and Bato were together? And then after finding out that they were not (to the disappointment of both Sokka and Katara) they tried setting them up? Also personal headcannon, Katara and Sokka were complete agents of chaos while trying to get Bakoda together. Also they whooped the ass of whomever tried to badmouth the couple.

Ohmygod I can just see Haru and Teo going,, wait your dad isn’t dating that guy from the invasion? and Sokka and Katara are like wha- what what do you mean? Bato,, Bato is dad’s best friend. they’re not... are they? and it’s not until after boiling rock when they get to ask hakoda if he and Bato are together and apparently the answer is no ? Sokka and Katara can’t let that stand. They put a pin in it until after the war is over but,,, Operation: Get Dad a Boyfriend commences.

I feel like while hakoda has really stupid humour like sokka, bato has more dignified jokes- however, he is a menace when it comes to dirty ones, to the point where they're infamous within the tribe.

Ohhh hell yeah. “You have your father’s wit” wasn’t included in canon for no reason. Sokka picked up on so much of Hakoda’s humor that sometimes Bato has to blink twice to make sure he isn’t talking to Hakoda. Bato is actually unintentionally hilarious I feel like and sometimes Hakoda laughs a bit too hard at his jokes but Bato takes what he can get. His sexual innuendos? oh lord have mercy he’s probably relentless isn’t he? The tribe is so tired of him.

Imagine a world in which Hama got a better storyline and Bakoda bring her back to Kanna and Pakku got what he deserved

How do you feel about Hakoda/Bato/Kya? I really love the idea of this dynamic and like at first Bato is super unsure because he feels like he's ruining their relationship or they'll get tired of him and go back to being just the two of them. But they both reassure him constantly that this is a forever sort of thing for them and they hope it is for him too (which ofc it is he's loved Hakoda forever and fell for Kya so quickly) and slowly they all get used to being a unit and sharing their love

I answered a similar ask here so the answer is YES to hakoda/bato/kya but what I love about this one is that bato and kya are together as well and I don’t usually consider them being together. And I don’t know why I didn’t before because they’d just be the most reckless duo omg like,, people in their village thought Hakoda and Bato were bad? Well wait until you meet Bato and Kya. oh good lord when all three of them are together it’s relentless. I definitely think Bato felt like he was intruding on what they had because he’d always felt like loving Hakoda was wrong because of his marriage but when Hakoda reassured him that both he and Kya love him,, well Bato is a sentimental man. The three of them are amazing and probably have amazing night-outs I feel like.
