22,27,30 for the asks💜
Thanks for the asks! I have reblogged the ask game long ago so your ask was a nice surprise! 💜💜
22. 3 movies/books/tv shows that made you cry
I'm feeling lazy today so I'm going to say the titles in Spanish. So Ruta Sepetys's books Lágrimas en el mar and Entre tonos de gris made me cry A LOT, especially the second one, which wasn't a good thing because I read it while traveling by bus and plane so it wasn't a good experience crying with lots of people around me😂 And the movie Lo imposible made me cry a lot too
27. 3 things you wish you did more often
I wish I see my friends way more often than I do, and that I go to the beach and hiking way more often too
30. 3 moments you could never forget
The moment(s) when I met my friends
The moment I met my dog (she was a tiny furry thing that crawled)
The moment I saw the high grade I got in the Phonetics and Phonology exam at uni (I was SO NERVOUS about that grade!)
"3 things..." asks
6. 3 characters that inspire you
10. 3 things you like eating with coffee

10. 3 things you like eating with coffee breakfast lol (but also chocolate and cookies)
3 Things Asks!
24 + 33 :)
Thanks, babes! I’m sorry this took a minute:
24. 3 places that make me feel peaceful:
- by the sea
- my bed + 🐶
- the airport! I can’t really explain but because I love travelling, the airport’s busy atmosphere brings me a mix of peace and excitement, and weirdly enough I don’t mind spending hours in it between flights
33. 3 scented candles: I’m basic af, fancy elaborated scents usually make me dizzy :(
- anything with coconut and/or vanilla
- eucalyptus
- pumpkin spice
What about you, any favorites??
5. 3 colors to paint your room
7. 3 fruits that you love the most
8. 3 tv shows that you never get bored of
15. 3 quotes that have a special place in your life
19. 3 animals you’d love to take care of in your house
Thank you Esther! 💚
5. 3 colors to paint your room
Lavender purple, pastel green or black (but with all these options, I would only paint one wall in the particulair color, never a whole room)
7. 3 fruits that you love the most
Nectarine, watermelon and strawberries
8. 3 tv shows that you never get bored of
911/911ls, Avatar the last airbender and a Dutch tv show called 'Floortje naar het einde van de wereld' or Floortje at the end of the world. It's a show where she travels to remote places and visits the people who live there, stays for some time with them and talks to them about everything. It's so beautiful and I always learn new things when I watch it
15. 3 quotes that have a special place in your life
"Be yourself, everyone else is already taken" (I don't know who it is from)
"Don't give up, you're more than enough", from the song Bigger by Sugarland
"You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving, you will come to a better place", uncle Iroh (atla)
19. 3 animals you'd love to take care of in your house
This is easy, 3 dogs 🙃
3 things asks
3, 8, 28 for the "3 things" meme. :)
3. 3 songs that mean something to you
I have to look up songs now because I suck at titles. And I don't care if my choices sound silly or that I'm too old for them.
1) From the Ice Princess soundtrack, there are a couple of songs that I would, and sometimes still do, play over and over again. I was able to find 'the official Disney video" of one of them - No One by Aly & AJ. It talks about not wanting to be anyone else but yourself and not changing for anyone else. Which I really needed to hear at time when a former best friend and former friends were being really shitty. They had been for years, yet I kept caving and trying to brush it all over, forgiving, etc. Tumblr later teaching me to let poisonous people go was the best lesson ever, but I hadn't learned it back then, no matter how many times I had tried and wanted to.
2) Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground) by Mike + The Mechanics. I loved this song and video when I was in high school and still do. It was the time when V: the Series was on and Red Dawn (the original 80's movie) was out with Terminator either out then or was not too many years later.
For a teenager growing up in a shitty, abusive home in a backwards city on the OH border the desire to get away and have a life that actually meant something, where I had value, was strong. Value, such as being part of a resistance moment in a dystopian world. :D
I wrote a short story on this type of trope, similar to the song & video and adapted it for a monologue/one scene with props and blocking for a drama class assignment. (I think I got a B.)
Side note: I never remember the name of this song nor the group that sang it, only "can you hear me running." It was over a decade before a friend was, "Oh, I know that song! Here's a link!" which I then promptly forgot. lol
3) Times Are Hard for Dreamers - Ame'lie the Musical. I saw commercials for this Broadway musical shortly before leaving on a 10 day non-stop research trip to Canada with my hub and son, and immediately bought the original Broadway cast recording. It was shortly after the 2016 elections and we were wanting to emigrate, but most importantly, get our gay and Hispanic son to a safer country via transferring universities. We didn't want to just assume Canada would be best. It was the top of 3 countries that fit the bill on paper.
This song - damn... son and I sang (badly) to it so much on the trip. The title alone struck a cord. We've always been a family of doing things our own way and screw what others think we "should do" of following the norm. It lifted our spirits during a terrifying time where we knew hub and son had a chance of being detained just for crossing back into the U.S. because of their race despite being born on the U.S. mainland. Puerto Ricans were being deported to countries they weren't even from because border patrol felt their IDs were fake. And all of that was on top of the increased homophobic and racism that was everywhere including son's university campus and our democratic lead, still racist AF town.
When we got back from our trip, I was so sad to find out that the musical never got picked up. Son and I were really hoping to see it.

Bonus song - Take On Me by ah ha - it's just a really, really cool video and I have never stopped loving it since I first saw it play on MTV as a teenager.
Multiples of 5
Thank you so much for asking you wonderful, darling dear! 💖
5. 3 colors to paint your room
white ceiling, lavender walls, and the wood trim stained a dark walnut (i’m not silly, you don’t paint real wood trim, it must only be stained — i feel very strongly about this).
10. 3 things you like eating with coffee
i actually don’t drink coffee, but sometimes i’ll have a cappuccino, so with that i’d go with sweet bakery stuffs like, donuts, pies, and cakes.
15. 3 quotes that have a special place in your life
“if at first you don’t succeed. try, try again.” , “practice makes permanent.” & “be yourself. everybody else is taken.” (does it show that i’m a teacher?)
20. 3 adjectives that you’d use to describe yourself
happy, weird, caring
25. 3 people you’d never get tired of
my husband, my son, my best friend
30. 3 moments you could never forget
this is tough, so i’m going to sorta go off my previous answer: getting married, the day my son was born, and the day me and my best friend first met.
35. 3 vegetables that you like the taste of
sugar snap peas, carrots, water chestnuts
3 things asks
For the ask meme: 37. 3 languages you would love to learn
Thank you so much for the ask! 🥰
I'd definitely like to learn French because darn I had 9 years of classes and I'm still pretty bad at it. Also I love the language but I was traumatized during my school years and wouldn't it be beautiful to overcome this trauma?
Japanese because I would love to travel Japan for an extended period of time and not only the tourist hot spots and I think it's always beneficiary if you speak the local language. Additionally, I think Japanese sounds very cool!
And last but not least Spanish because so many people actually speak it and just imagine the possibilities! 😍
Unfortunately I'm not good with theoretical language lessons (see my 9 years of French xD). I was always more of a learning by doing (or in this case speaking/hearing) kind of person. So, the probability of me really learning this is quite low.
