Kiya Lacey Releases Second EP “Earth, Wind & Fire” 

Chills covered my body as I listened to the Southern Princess, Kiya Lacey’s 3-track EP Earth, Wind & Fire released yesterday with great anticipation. The songstress built excitement for the new project with dope visuals every day matching the mood of each piece to this beautiful project. 

Fortunately for me, I was able to catch a preview of the new project when she performed “Fire” at her special event a few months back where I instantly fell in love. This young lady never ceases to amaze me with her captivating vocals and mesmerizing visuals. EWF is a 3-track visual project that the young singer/songwriter plans to share with her fans throughout November. 

Kiya took to Instagram to share the inspiration behind the music:

"This project means a lot to me because I am learning to be free with my writing and sharing my story that I'm sure many can relate to. Combining passion, aggression, infatuation, and determination. There's pain in my voice on some tracks because I was able to record at home--- in the moment. Earth was developed by a voice memo idea combined with a poem in my notes. Wind took a couple weeks to settle on with ideas being bounced around. Fire was the first song I ever recorded in Atlanta. It's beautiful to see something i worked on come to life. It kinda makes me nervous cause I'm sharing a piece of me with you. Take time to immerse yourself into each piece. I'm so thankful for your ears and hearts.”

No need to be nervous baby girl, because we love it! I have had these three tracks on repeat as each track transitions to the next to tell a complete story of passion and pain. Stay tuned for more from the young Southern Princess! The Late Night show has even more to share about this project so be sure to follow the movement.

What we’re listening to this week: Milly Roze, Ross Henry and Twin Atlantic

This tune is super chilled out, and packed full of synths, electronic beats and powerful vocals - it’s the perfect sound for the Summer.

The newest track from under-the-radar singer songwriter has the most chilled out vocal ever, combined with a mishmash of synths, cymbals and perfect harmonies. It’s so good it’s made it onto Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist - despite only having 273 plays on Youtube.

With heavy guitar riffs, super loud drums, and a shouty chorus, this is Twin Atlantic at their finest - and it’s getting us hyped for their album release in September!

What we’re listening to this week: Florrie, Hozier and Panic! At the Disco

With a typical pop beat and relatable lyrics, Real Love is sure to be a pop anthem this Summer, with a chorus that you want to yell at the top of your lungs.

Hozier’s powerful vocals combined with the epic strings and strong drum beat make for an atmospheric and haunting song, perfect for the Legend of Tarzan soundtrack that it was written for.

A steady beat and an epic bass riff opening the song make it sound almost like something from a Bond movie. The lyrics are fun and edgy, questioning party culture but still getting stuck in your head.

Catchy lyrics, heavy beats and a strong chorus, this is the epitome of bubblegum pop.

Chilled out, ethereal pop from Southport songstress Låpsley. This latest single from her new album Long Way Home is perfect for a chilled out drive on a summer Sunday. 

Two Door Cinema Club have finally returned, and we’re loving it. Indie riffs and jazzy bass lines combined with a cool synthesiser in the chorus mark this as an immediate indie-pop hit for Two Door Cinema Club.

What we’re listening to this week: FEMME, Band of Skulls & Skepta

With delicate vocals and a simplistic video, this offering from FEMME’s debut album Debutante is upbeat and catchy; with a head bobbing beat it is certain that if this is anything to go by, Debutant will be filled with pop prowess.

With a strong drum beat and a repetitive indie guitar riff, Band of Skulls’ new track features some really great harmonies as well a cool contrast between high and low guitar work - this song is So Good!

The newest single from Skepta’s album Konnichiwa, Man is sure to have the clubs going off.  Sampling Queens of the Stone Age’s Regular John and going in on people who jump on the bandwagon, Skepta makes a really strong statement with this track, and we like it.
