Alright’
JME BOY BETTER KNOW MIXTAPES
On the second night of Rob's London gigs on the Britpop Tour, he brought out grime artists Lethal Bizzle, Wiley, and Scorcher as special guests. One week before the show, Lethal Bizzle put out an open verse challenge to their recent single Can't Touch This and Rob responded. The reaction online from fans was overwhelmingly impressed.
So somewhere in the excitement of the collaboration, Rob invited them to perform the song with him at his show, including Rob's verse. Which is all context to say that the audio is from Rob's original video he recorded on his phone in bed. I've put in some work to improve the quality. Enjoy!
Lyrics: Been the best of the best, got better Did the best singing on the best song ever What? You could never be the best, not never Do ya best, I'm not impressed whatever Lived the life that your favourite rapper pretends to live He's on benefits, so lend him twenty quid (don't mention it!) You're offended it's 'cause you're sensitive Not one of thems like me I'm not one of them got my own back I don't need no other friends Rudebox ruined my career so fuck it then Now I'm back I'm about to fuck shit up again Twice as bad as you think I am You don't really know the half of it You can't imagine how hard it is trying to be the world's nicest narcissist I'll out-sniff out-drink and out-sing you Life comes at you fast when it hits you Don't just dwell on shit that you've been through The world just cares about me and my issues Shouts to Maureen for the handjob I do any genre and like 'and what?' Older than your dad with no dad bod And you know I can beat him in a dance ooooooff Reload this and reload it again
Now tell me why people are hating on Dave's new album. Like it's so deep and speaks on so many relevant topics and yes the production could have been a bit better but you can tell he really put his heart and soul into it and spoke about his real life problems. I feel like if you don't like it you are honestly just immature and can't understand the beauty of the lyricism behind music and only listen for the beat and lyrics about making money, flexing and having sex. I'm not saying those song aren't good especially not Dave's, but can't we just appreciate the storytelling of this album. Its literally called 'the boy who played harp' with fts like Tems and James Blake so were you seriously expecting songs like sprinter or location? Because we already know he can do the clubby vibey songs as he has done numerous times. I think this is gonna be one of the albums for his actual fans who appreciate his work. Buttt I feel like in like a few weeks everyone is gonna switch up and actually start listening too it or one song is gonna get over played on tiktok and it's gonna ruin the song for everyone.
