Sketching Les Mis Chapter 3.8.14 - In Which A Police Officer Gives A Lawyer Two Fisticuffs
WOLFBOY IS BACK!!
Marius went to the police superintendent, he wasn't there so the (I assume senior) inspector heard his account of what happened. The Inspector, after being incredibly salty about Marius being there at all, devised a plan to catch the Patron-Minette in the act of attacking M Leblanc: giving Marius two "fisticuffs" (small guns) and having him be a lookout in his apartment's peephole until the assailants had begun their attack, at that moment he'd fire the gun up and the police would enter the Jondrette room. This inspector's name? Javert.
(OH I GET IT! FISTICUFFS! he gave Marius fisticuffs because he insulted him twice. Very nice pun.)
Javert burned his cloak! On the stove! And didn't even change his tone! He just gave Marius guns because Marius is a lawyer and Javert respects authority so he just trusts Marius to be an upstanding citizen I guess! He recognises the address of the Gorbeau House! There is so much going on here!
"It's a private matter." "You can tell me." "And very urgent." "Then tell me quickly." JAVERT IS TOO FUNNY NOT TO LIKE
