The point of it being that hawk has to take over for borelli and then borelli sort of casting himself as hawks ghost of army doctor future… This would be fascinating enough on its own the way its adding to the painting of hawkeye as less of a perfect tv show hero (‘you have a great many gifts, its a pity you cant number compassion among them’) and only really just getting started with how fucked up hes gonna eventually be (fallen idol in s6 when he cant keep operating bc he drank too much!!!) but then you add the layer of it literally being alan aldas actual dad playing borelli and doing and saying these things and its like. Well okay then (goes crazy).
