Dan Heng had to stand there and watch, watch you run towards the end, watch you walk into the fire he desperately wanted to rescue you from.

Amphoreus was on the brick of being destroyed, the greatest trick that held its blue skies together broken and now it was reduced to ruin and fire, to loneliness and despair.

Time was running out and Phainon had left you behind. He had forced you out of his path in the name of fairness and affection; it had all already been decided by him, solely by the white haired warrior.

So why... why did you, the beautiful you, the fierce reckless you have to defy Phainon's last wish, run towards the Dawn, turn your back on Dan Heng?

Dan Heng had to watch you choose the Crysos Heir, he had to see you risk everything for a man that wasn't him.

It brought madness to his quiet garden. How come? Since when? Had Amphoreus, no, had Phainon left such a mark on your soul that you'd sacrifice your life, your life trailblazing with him, to save Phainon's world from destruction? Why?

Trailblazing had always been about sharing for Dan Heng, he had met valuable allies along his path, friends, family, he had met Himeko and Weng and March 7, even PomPom. But since he met you, trailblazing also became caring.

He cared for you, in a deep and pure way. In a tepid burning fire he never felt before. it came in drops, loving you, and then it turned to downpour and storms.

The strings of fate that brought you two together had been sealed long before Amphoreus, and on the now dying planet, if anything, they had been laid bare.

Dan Heng though he knew the way of the world, he thought he could no longer be fazed or queasy; his past life, if anything, had at least given him a quiet wisdom. A dignified soledom.

But ever since your transport had crushed on that doomed planet, since he found you lifeless against the car, ever since his voice couldn't reach your ears, his world began to spin.

Meeting the Crysos Heirs, their trials, theirs rules...something always felt off for Dan Heng, something was not right.

All those restless night when he whispered his doubts in the dark to you, his words mingling with the sound of the swinging waters...it crushed onto him the second you turned your back on him and run away. To another man side. To witness a Dawn he wasn't allowed to see.

If he had known before, would he have followed Phainon and Tribbie into Okhema? No, would he have accepted Blackswan's proposal?

Or would he have chosen a different route, saw you bask under a different sun, watch you smile to only him, your life safe, your peace protected...there was no time for regrets now.

One thing was certain, he couldn't leave you there, he couldn't let you go.

So he did the only thing he could at the moment, he waited.

For you to come back to him, to reach out your hand in the dark.

It didn't matter how much time passed, how many days he had to bare. At the right moment he'd be there, hand grabbing yours in the darkness and pulling up with all his strength, ready to lift you up, to save you from that hell.

If, for whatever reason, you couldn't give up on Phainon yet, Dan Heng would have waited, because as sure as heaven he wasn't ready to give up on you.

I'm frustrated that Baizhu and Kaveh will be released on the second phase, but also kinda glad that I now have more time to save up for them. Sooo I guess I can't complain 😅
