Congrats on 3k + you deserve all of it girly 💕 for the prompt I was wondering if I can request shiro with prompt 23 & 24 from list 1 ☺️
So this turned into a longer drabble bc I got kinda carried away lol.
List 1:#23: “I would’ve died for you.”#24: “You almost died! And for what?”
The mission had gone wrong. So horribly, terribly wrong. It called for hard choices, ones you made in an instant. There was no second thought and no regret when a laser burned through your side, taking a hunk of flesh with it.
“[F/n]!” Shiro yelled behind you. Taking out the Galra sentries before rushing to your side. The amount of blood you were losing made you lose consciousness. “No no, come on babe, hang on.” He picked you up. “Keith, Lance cover me! I have to get [F/n] back to the castle.”
Shiro ran to black, holding you tightly in his arms. As he boarded he contacted Allura and they got the healing pod ready. Black flew as fast as she could to get back to the castle and Shiro got you into the pod the moment they landed.
He wanted to stay but Allura reminded him there was a battle going on and he raced back to his lion.
After they freed the prisoners on the Galra warship and successfully destroyed it. All the paladins returned to the ship. They all felt a sense of grief as you were inside the healing pod.
“[F/n] will have to stay in there over night but should be better by morning. The blast barely missed any major arteries and organs, it was very lucky.” Allura said and the other paladins nodded. However Shiro just stared at you in the pod. Why did you take that blast for him? It could’ve killed you. It almost killed you.
Everyone watched Shiro before Coran cleared his throat. “Perhaps everyone should get some rest. It has been a long battle.”
Nodding, all the paladins began to exit the wound. However Shiro stayed put. “Are you coming Shiro?” Pidge asked, being the last one out the door. Shiro glanced over his shoulder. “Oh, uh, I’m just gonna stay a little bit longer.”
Pidge furrowed her eyebrows. “Are you sure?” He nodded and smiled softly. “I am, you go get some rest Pidge. You did a good job out there today.”
Nodding she yawned and exited the room.
Shiro never went to his room that night, instead crashed next to the healing pod. His back leaning against it while his head lulled forward. However in the middle of the night, Pidge came back and saw him still there as she expected. She had a blanket and laid it over him before turning to return to her room.
The next morning Shiro was up bright and early, waiting for you to wake up. Soon the pod opened and he was ready to catch you and help you sit down. “Takashi?” You said tiredly and he smiled at you.
“Hey take it easy, you got hurt pretty bad” Saying as he sat you down. Taking a seat next to you. You slowly came back to your senses. “I was shot.” You recalled and he nodded.
“Why would you jump in front of it like that?”
You shrugged. “I didn’t want you to get hurt. I would’ve died for you.” His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to understand what you were saying. ‘You’d die for him? He’d never want you to die for him.’
“You almost died! And for what?” His voice raised a little as he stood. The aggression caught you off guard.
You stood too. “Because the team needs you and I could never live with myself if you got hurt and I could’ve stopped it.”
He shook his head, “But I’d never want that from you!”
“Well it’s my life, and my love for you is stronger than my will to save myself.” You said without a waver in your voice. “And I know you’d do the same for me. In a heartbeat.”
He looked at you and finally crumbled, his arms wrapped around you. “You scared me so much, I don’t want to be without you.” He said into your neck.
You smiled a little and rubbed his back. “I know Takashi, I know. I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere if both of us can help it.”
