What if that happens, what if this doesn’t happen, what if he thinks I’m crazy, what if she doesn’t love me, what if they don’t care, what if I don’t find the job, what if I can’t get it right, how do I stop hating myself, how do I become a better person, how do I silence those demons spouting poison into my soul, how do I keep going when it feels like I’m trapped in Shelob’s cage, how do I find the way, how do I become my own guiding light, how-

“I wasn’t-“

“There was clearly something on your mind, or you wouldn’t have-“

“Lost my cool? Screamed my lungs out? Slammed the door and left for entire night?”

“You wouldn’t have gotten angry at me for crying.”

“…”

“What were you thinking?”

“It has nothing to do with you-“

“I was the only one there!”

“You- weren’t. There was also my mother, my little sister – she was crying just like you, when that piece of shit who called himself my father broke her jaw – and he was crying, too, and I just couldn’t-“

“You couldn’t do anything.”

Sometimes it’s like a feathery sensation, on a summer day when there’s not a cloud in the sky, no relief in the shade. It tickles, going down your leg or arm, and once you realize it and scratch yourself, ah, there’s a beetle stuck to your fingers. Sometimes it’s like taking a step, then falling, a burst of pain somewhere at your ankle and a whispering in the grass, a venomous sine wave escaping.

Sometimes the beetle scares you more than the snake. Sometimes the bite hurts less than the antidote. Sometimes it’s the beginning. Sometimes, beginning of an end.

30 Day Challenge (:

Hi!

I've decided that I'm going to start doing 30 day challenges, and since September has 30 days I decided to start today on the first of September so of course I just had to choose a fitting challenge.. 

I'm going to do the Harry Potter challenge for the next 30 days. Which means that each day, I have to answer a question about Harry Potter on my challenge list.
