Alternative Sgt Pepper’s cover photos, taken on the 30th March 1967 by Michael Cooper.
An alternate version of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover taken by Michael Cooper on the 30th March, 1967.
Included in this photo are several audience members who were later obscured or nixed from the final arrangement, including Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, and Bette Davis in costume for her role as Queen Elizabeth in The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (Warner Bros., 1939).
The image was given to EMI record executives in 1987 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album’s release.
