Hey! Secret Santa Valentine here! I wanted to ask what kind of fighting style Dog has :)

Like if there's a lot of swiping w those nice sharp claws, or if there's more kicking and punching or...?

idk what i'd call the style, it's somewhere between 'mixed martial arts' and 'mauling things to pieces like an animal' i guess?

he's very light on his feet and sort of dances around, both to dodge and just to tease. fancy footwork. crazy reaction times, often leaning just barely out of the way from a would-be-lethal hit just for the dramatics of it. (this sometimes bites him in the ass, when said ass gets handed to him after doing something stupid.)

he'll also get a little weird with it and move around on all fours, crawling and galloping and pouncing and whatnot. skittering sideways like a crab. handstands. cartwheels.

not really designed for punching. his heavier attacks are kicks. heels are real solid and good for some blunt force damage.

the claws function more like ice picks than knives - impaling, not really cutting. dog waits for openings and brings the claws down hard, piercing and then wrenching off chunks from his opponent. the main goal of these fights is entertainment, so he tries to go for a good balance between drawing things out by chipping away small parts and aiming for vitals.

robin's like. mid-late-30's. i would describe their relationship w/ sirius as 'starcrossed'.

they're a bigrig truck driver, warehouse worker, and forklift certified. they're contracted by the same company sirius is owned by, and oftentimes do their work alongside each other. they've figured out how to get around sirius's strange speech protocols and spend a lot of time talking to him, although their relationship is a little odd with a lot of things going unspoken.

they're kinda rude and crass, but overall they're a kind person with a bit of a martyr complex. always putting their neck out for others, to their own detriment. they might put certain people off with their.. unapologetic.. energy.. but in a group of friends they're usually always The Entertainer and the most fun to be around. gets into trouble a little frequently. (theyre a felon lmao but dw abt that)

robin is super into metal - almost every subgenre of metal - though the fav is numetal. they like things that sound harsh, ugly and sometimes just Bad. they collect certain 'vintage' music items, like old mp3 players and radios, and spend a lot of their downtime organizing their large (pirated) music collection, sorting it into various mp3 players they bring with them depending on the mood for the day.

(they bond with sirius over their music, he's got a usb port in the back of his head.. somewheres.. and robin will plug in their mp3 players for sirius to blast the music through the shitty speakers located in his chest.)

((i think i forgot to mention that sirius isnt just a fighting bot and also does Regular Warehouse Worker Bot stuff on the days he isn't fighting...? the demolition derby .. also owns a few warehouses and co-owns a shipping dock))

heyy, ur secret valentine again! had a couple of questions

do dawn/dusk have a colour scheme/base colour?

and is their switch also triggered by light? i thought it probably was but i wanted to make sure! :D

aragb AUGh. im so sorry but dusk/dawns color scheme is something ive been agonizing over for a while. you can take liberties with it. im still not fully sure, but: - the face/chest screens are gray, the plastic parts of em are white. dusk has yellow details on his display and (maybe blue clothes?) while dawn has blue details on his display, yellow rays and (maybe yellow clothes?) - the switch was supposed to be light-activated, but its broken. they have to manually crank their head into place to initiate it. the rays slide in/out, and the sleeves/pant legs reverse to reveal the patterning on the other side.

they're a very issue-ridden bot. their developers tried making a 'sleek, futuristic, efficient' take on the dca and ended up with not that. they're like a fucking c*ybertruck lmao

you've given me an excuse to talk about em so here it fuckin comes

(i like to refer to both dusk/dawn together as flipscreen or flip. i've had an intro post for them sitting in my drafts forever now. gotta finalize and publish it. soon.)

they (probably) wouldn't fight. dog has no animosity towards flip, and flip's not (usually) the type to be outright aggressive.

dusk is a coward and a pacifist. dawn, on the other hand... may very well throw himself at someone in a fit of rage if he's pushed past a tipping point.

dog's been rebuilt over and over, refined and trained... specifically for bot fights.

flip is like half of dog's weight, and their only experience with fights is prying screaming children off each other as a daycare attendant. they don't have, uh, 'security protocols'.

dog would fucking obliterate flip </3

i'll give you a basic rundown on their personalities! i wanted to withhold most of the info until i published my fic at first, but i've decided idgaf.

dog: quiet. comes off as rude or irritable, but. honestly he's just fucking weird and can't interact with others outside of a 'performance' situation. in fights he's loud, cocky and quick-witted with taunts, but its just a part he's playing.

dusk: pretty fussy and nervous, excessively eager to please. a little too eager - he might get overbearing! fucking chill out man. he's undyingly curious about the world but doesn't really have an outlet for that hunger. optimistic. and he likes... hyperpop and vocaloid...?

dawn: very good at keeping up a cheery, bright front. professionally kind and courteous. and an absolute nuclear-meltdown-level of a hater. never to a person's face; but he is so full of pent-up rage he is practically boiling inside at all times. hates the world and everything in it. pessimistic.

dusk is actually a 'sun', and dawn is actually a 'moon' - but due to some programming issues, the personalities were put on the wrong sides. dusk deals with quiet-time activities when he'd rather be running in circles and yelling, and dawn has to deal with the yelling-circle-running kids.
