I feel my enthusiasm about everything has dipped a bit. I’m still trying to find out why but I decided to write down things I’m grateful for to tune mind into a more positive way of thinking. I think I need to do this in the morning too and spend a bit of time with God again😓.

I had a phone interview followed by a tad bit stressful assessment in which I did my best but yay for securing an interview for something I’ve never really done - editorial intern. Ive applied to a few place I’m currently waiting on feed back but ya girl is tryna make money to secure herself financially.

Today is the last day of my #31daysofpractice challenge for my driving theory test so I spent the whole day in bed practicing for it. I doubt I’ve done it in the most efficient way though because I’m so tired of the wait and I’ve had to focus on more pressing deadlines in the past couple of days so now it’s a bit of rush to get it done.

I knew I needed to get out the house today and work somewhere far away from unwanted energy. I kicked myself for spending so much on food (snacks) for the day and eventually moved from the claustrophobic poorly lit cafe I was to the library where the lighting was good and the space was bigger as soon and as quickly as I could. I could feel a wave of panic coming on and I didn’t want today to go down as a ‘bad day’.

I have this method for dealing with stress, panic or anxiety. Whenever I feel it coming on I write down everything that’s worrying me as a spider diagram but today I took one step further and surrounded it with positive affirmations I needed to hear then a bible verse popped into my head.

1 Peter 5:7 - Give all your worries and cares to God for He cares for you.

By the time I’d gotten it all down I felt peace and calm and I could think clearly again so I said a short mental prayer about all the things I was grateful for and the things I’d written down and got on with everything I scheduled to do. I think the important thing is making a conscious and decisive decision not to worry about those things anymore and have faith that they’d all fall into place.

I moved my theory test practice to mornings and I think that coupled with the fact that I worked in a public space helped me get into it more. It’s the tests I think I absolutely flopped I always do well on and when I think I did well turns out I flopped. 🙄 Practice is practice anyways and I’m just happy I practiced . 😌

At least the sun was shining today, it was forecasted for rain so I can’t be mad.

It’s been hard trying not to stress about accommodation for third year. I spent two hours trying to sort things out today and then get back to work. It’s been so back and forth and I just keep asking God to help and take control.

I saw an old man cry today. He was a grumpy old man. The type to swear and complain about young people having no respect and always being on their phones in the library but then did the same thing. His loud phone call meant almost everyone overheard his admitted battle with alcohol addiction and his need to go into rehab. After he finished talking I looked over to see him muffling sobs over his newspaper and I felt sorry for him. I pray when I’m that age I have no reason to muffle sobs over a newspaper in the local library and grumble about the youth.

On the bright side I have been keeping to my new rules of going to bed early and planning the next day the night ahead and I’m glad because I feel strong and motivated in the mornings. I also bought some coloured flashcards and new pens to make studying French and JS a bit easier and I love the colours.

Good things happened today and not so good things happened today but I refuse to call it a bad thing.

Today was the last day of my #31daysofpractice challenge and GUYSSSS! I PASSED MY THEORY TEST. AYYEEE. I can finally get back to doing and studying other things.

I let go of a piece of my heart today in the hope of finding it again. And that’s all I wanna say. Goodnight

So today I didn’t wake up at 6 and that’s my own fault. Going to bed around two bc of social media and bc I already had a nap isn’t happening anymore - bed at 12, wake a 6.

The repercussions were that I didn’t actually start working till around 3, I had to do the smaller tasks to ease me into it. That’s okay though, whatever it takes, right?

I did start my #31daysofpractice challenge for my driving theory test but only for five minutes and only one question because I felt I had to do something however small so as not to give myself a bad start and then feel bad about it later.

I noticed that I run of time and really struggle to get things done when there’s a change in routine e.g. a friend coming over or an unexpected long phone call, waking up late and starting the day too late affects my general progress.

So am I going to bed on time today? Yes I am.

Starting Monday (5.8.2019) I’m thinking it might be a good idea to do a challenge within my 100 days of productivity challenge. I booked my driving theory test and it is now set for a month away. I know if I leave it to two weeks before I’ll get all flustered and fail bc I won’t know where to start from so I’m proposing I do a 31 days of practice challenge so I can be one step closer to my (day)dream of owning a Mini and driving while the sun sets listening to ambient Christian lo-fi music and going for long drives to getaway from whatever madness is trailing me. Teehee 🤓
