I wanna be a part it 

I lived in NYC right after I graduated out of high school from 1998 to early 2001. So I decided to visit again on my birthday week. I haven’t seen New York since the 9/11 tragedy, so this is a treat to myself as I did the tourist thing and took pictures this time around.

Of course, the first thing I did was go to Time Square and watch some Broadway shows. One show in particular that I wanted to see was “...In The Heights”. It was exhilarating to see a true live Broadway performance knowing there’s another theatre around the corner or a few blocks away playing another show if you wish to buy tickets and see them.

I am surprised to see the same Virgin Megastore that I once visited my first time around, closing its doors only to have a new Forever 21 store take its place. Gone are the days of physical CDs, record vinyls and other music memorabilia; thanks to the popularity of digital music downloads.

I also visited the New York Yankees Team Store in the Bronx and bought a few souvenirs. There is so much to do and time goes by really fast when you’re in it. Looking back, I would probably visit from time to time but won’t live here again. Though I love the night and city life, it has gotten too congested and crowded. Which is something that I am trying to avoid more and more as I get older even though I am only 31.
