SCENARIO: Big Brother Phil

[Spoilers up to Ch 100]

I want to dedicate this to @34394 (Hope you don't mind if I tagged! I thought you might like this.)

I miss Phil too. I think we all do so I thought I'd write a little something heartwarming during Phil's time. Now without further ado, enjoy!

"I can wait."

"So leave us behind."

[Phil, Carol, Cherie, and the others have moved to "Sister Facilities" and Phil tries to adjust to his new life there.]

Simon: Come on! Let's play!

[Everyone runs across the field laughing. Phil holds hands with Carol as they walk along the field. Helen comes up to them.]

Helen: She really likes you huh Phil. She sticks around you a lot since you and the others arrived here. You're being such a good big brother.

Phil: Of course!

Simon: I wonder if she'll start talking before any of us leave. I want to know what her first word is!

Jackie: It should be Mama right? That tends to be the first word for everyone. It's not that hard to say either.

Simon: Hmm what if she says my name first? Come on, let me try.

[Simon comes up to Carol and kneels down.]

Simon: Carol, say Simon. Siiiii mooon.

Carol: ?

Simon: ...No use huh?

Jackie: Haha we'll just have to see.

[Later that evening, Phil and the others were sleeping. The door to Phil's room opens. Carol appears and goes up to Phil's bedside. She starts tugging on the sheets.]

Phil: Hm...? Carol....? What is it?

[In her hand, she has a pillow.]

Phil: Did you have a nightmare? Do you want to sleep with me?

[Carol just tries to climb onto the bed. Phil then moves over and carries Carol up to join him on the bed. After a while, Carol falls asleep. Phil lies awake as he stares at the ceiling.]

Phil: 'This reminds me of when I had a nightmare. I went to ask Emma if I could sleep with her back then.'

'Emma...'

'I miss you'

[Phil starts shaking a bit as tears well up in his eyes. Carol, feeling the vibrations on the bed, wakes up and tugs on Phil's sleeve.]

Phil: [turns to look at Carol, surprised] Carol? Sorry did I wake you up?

[Phil, realizing that his face was a mess, turns away to hide his tears.]

Phil: Sorry. Big brother doesn't look so cool right now.

Carol: Phiw

Phil: Yeah...?

[His face turns to a surprised expression again when he realizes what she said and turns to face her] ....wait what?!

Her first word wasn't Mama or anything else.

It was his name.

Carol: [smiles] Phiw! Phiw!

[She reaches out to touch his face, possibly in an attempt to wipe his tears away.]

It was then he realizes it wasn't that she had a nightmare.

She came to cheer him up.

She somehow knew he was pretending to be happy lately.

Phil: [reaches out to hug her] Carol...thank you...

Carol: Phiw!

Dear Emma:

How are you doing?

I've been fine.

It's been one month since then.

Lots of things have happened.

Carol and I have gotten along really well.

She called out my name as her first word and everyone was surprised when they heard.

I'm going to try to be the best big brother she's ever had!

I wonder if it's because Carol is with me and that she looks like you

That I'm able to keep standing on my feet and hope that we can meet up with you again.
