Boyfriend is getting me an Xbox 360

This is going to be my first video game system, ever. I've never really played video games before. My mom wouldn't buy one for me or my brother. If we wanted one we had to buy them ourselves, and I had other things I wanted more, you know? So, I never really got into them.

If anyone can give me recommendations for some games I should check out I would appreciate it. I've fooled around in his system a bit, and I don't think I like first person perspective too much. Maybe once I play it a bit more it will get better, but I think I'd prefer something I can at least choose third person, if possible.
